Finishing week 1 IVRecephin; ER with headache!

Hi Everyone,

 

Just a quick update: I started IV rocephin this past Tuesday. I"m also taking Zithromax. I wound up in the ER on Sat evening with a migrane it was nasty, took 2 percocets and a soma, still no relief. ER visit took the pain away.

 

My question is, does anyone take preventative migrane medication on a daily basis? I did see a Neuro for headaches a while ago. He wanted me to take something on a daily basis for a preventative measure but I didn't think I needed it at the time. Now I'm not sure cause I do not want to deal with these things on top of everything else!

hopegirl, i had troubles with major headaches for yrs and migraines too. till i saw a nuero. he gave me gabapentin 300 mg x3 day for it. my headache i had for over a yr whent away totaly. i have been on it now for 2 months now and only had 1 migraine and it was a lot milder then they were b4 the gabapentin.

you may want to check into this. it has helped me a lot, maybe it can be of help to you also.

For my migraine headaches while on Rocephin my neuro gave me Treximet. I get headaches at least once a month, I usually can tell when it is coming on so I take one pill and if there is no relief within 30 min I take another...Only once have I had to take two. They work very well for my migraines. Try asking your neuro for info on Treximet.
