I take TOA free Cat's Claw. I take 1500mg a day - no abx at all since March. I don't use the samento drops because it does not tell you how much is in each drop. I need to know what the dose is, so I buy capsules. I also take 1000 mg grapefrut seed extract.

Thanks, nefferdun!  My LLMD put me on herbs until my blood test results come in.  I am having some side effects, like nausea, head aches, hot flashes and the shakes.  I was just wondering if this was because of the Samento.  He told me to stop increasing my daily dosage if I begin herxing.  Is that what I am doing??

I had a strong herx reaction to samento a few years back. This is strong medicine!! I increased my dosage too quickly and got really sick.

What you are describing sounds like a herxheimer reaction to me. I would stop increasing the dosage like your dr suggests, or even lower it a bit temporarily.

How many MG of samento are you taking? 

How much is best for Lyme when starting out, does anyone know?

He started me at 1/2 drop in the AM the first day.  Then 1 drop in the AM on day 2 and then increased each day by 1 drop up to day 6.  So day 6 I was up to 5 in the AM.  Day 7 I took 5 drops in the AM and 1 drop in the PM.  I didn't start to feel really bad until day 14 where I was up to 8 and 8.  I did 8 this morning and did pretty well.  I will repeat again this evening, but I don't think I am going to go any higher at this point.  It seems to be pretty strong stuff.

Hi LabLady,

I take 15 drops 2 times a day on an empty stomach. I also take 20 drops of Cumanda at the same time.

If I herx symptoms, I take 10 drops of Burbur up to 8 times a day. Burbur has a calming effect on my whole body but doesn't seem to last too long.

As far as herxing, it isn't fun but I look at it as getting closer to being cured. Until all this Lyme detoxes, I will remain sick.

I can't say whether or not I have side effects because of al the other medications and supplements I'm taking.

All I can tell you is you have to get worse before you get better...so they say...I'm not better yet! LOL

I did take it.  20 drops 2X a day for 5 months.  Didn't seem to do anything, so I stopped.
