Does anyone know if home-quality bioelectrical impedance scales that measure your body fat percentage are accurate?
Example: http://www.amazon.com/Omron-Full-Sensor-Composition-Monitor/dp/B0020MMCDE/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&s=hpc&qid=1251939205&sr=8-6
My old university's exercise science lab charges 10 bucks to have it done on theirs, I'm sure they have a version that costs $1500 though and is intended for commercial use...
Edit: Also meant to ask about DEXA(Dual X ray absorptiometry). This scan measures both body fat percentage and bone density. I'm interested in measuring bone density because of years of drinking 80% pepsi /virtually no water; and they say a lot of soda can leach the calcium out of your bones....so, does anyone know where you can do these scans, and how much they cost? I don't currently have insurance(declined over Lyme) and it will be a few months before I become eligible for my state's assigned risk health plan(and even then it may not pay for this).
