Going to a LLMD for the first time

What should I expect? I have been having headaches over the last few weeks and I just want more detailed testing done, including co-infection testing. I am going to see Dr. S in PA next Tuesday. I filled out all of the patient forms and I am bringing copies of the blood work and Quest WB results from my Primary Care Doctor. Will I get the Igenex test on the first visit? Do they take a lot of blood? I hate needles! Is the first visit usually long? I hope I am not going to regret putting the money out for this, but I guess the peace of mind could be worth it.

I'm right there with you in the wondering what is going to happen. I just called my insurance company to see if I would be reimbursed for the Igenix tests and although she talked in circles, the answer was pretty much, no. Because, since they don't take any insurance, they are "out of network" and I have a $5,000 out of network deductible. Yippee skippee.
I can't tell you what will happen since I haven't been to mine yet, but stop fretting! you will be just fine. And, people here will respond and let you know what to expect. Good luck to you!

I would do it, for the peace of mind and for the treatment (and possibly benefits) that you may be denied if you don't have the testing done. It's my understanding that Medicare pays for Igenex, so maybe your insurance would cover it, or some of it???? Or maybe you could be reimbursed as an out-of-netwrok claim? See what you can work out.... don't go without treatment and get worse because of the cost of initial testing. I don't know for sure, but maybe even Igenex could work with you on a payment schedule or allow you to pre-pay on a payment schedule for a month or two and then you could get it done???

I think it would definitely be worth asking. Hope this helps.
