Still positive

Good morning all,

 

My first positive western blot was June 22,09. Since then I have been on Doxy 100mg twice daily. Most of my symptoms have been in check except for some new facial numbness and knee pain.

 

I had a second western blot run last week and I am still positive. How long does it take to kick this thing? Do I try new antibiotics or keep with the same?

 

I cannot go to an LLMD with our current financial situation. My internist has been calling and researching as we go.

 

Any words of wisdom?

Hi mom,

I'm wondering why your doctor is wasting money on those tests? You should be treated two months past all symptoms resolving. 200mg of Doxy is not enough to treat Lyme Disease. I will post a website below. You should print it out and bring it in to your doctor since he is willing to learn. You should also be checked for co-infections. This is very important to be checked for because most people don't get better until they are treated for co-infections. Here is a information on dosages:
