If the chiropractor you choose has a certificate from Palmer school of chiropractic on his/her wall, don't walk but RUN AWAY
!! The Palmer school trains all its chiropractor students to charge you lots of $$$ and have you come in way more often than usually is necessary. Typically, these are the chiropractors who only give you an exam on the first appointment without an adjustment, then they try to sell you on how it will take months of 3-5x/week appointments to fix whatever ails you, even if your x-rays look pretty normal (i.e., nothing terribly out of balance).
I've been to a fair number of chiro's in my time and every single Palmer graduate chiro has been this way. The non-Palmer chiro's I've been to are usually more in tune with what the patient actually needs instead of just in it to pad their pocket.
Some insurance companies try to limit the number of appointments per year (e.g., mine will only cover 10 appointments/year), probably because of the Palmer grads over-doing things and ruining it for those who really do need to go more often.
The goal of a good chiropractor is usually to get you to a point of only needing to come in 2-3 times/year for maintenance adjustments.
Just my humble opinion...LOL
