Seriously, I'm crying and I hate it! I especially hate crying infront of my kids. I am having ALOT of chest pain, in both sides. It feels like I did 900 push ups. Also my right side hurts, I think my sciatic. It's never hurt before. I haven't been in this much pain ever. I have tried arnica cream, pills, excedrin, nothing is working at all. It's not even lessening the pain. I'm afraid the pain is going to keep me up, which isn't good since my baby got up 4 times last night!

I did do the detox bath 2 days ago, but only that once? Please please can someone give me a tip on getting some relief.

Hey Jenn,

You might have costochondritis. It makes you feel like you've been doing pushups or swinging a bat all day. Let your doctor know just in case it's something more serious.

Emu oil helps the pain. Nothing I tried worked either until the girls here told me about Emu Oil. That stuff is awesome.

That sounds about right, it has started to hurt all the way down to my forearms now. My health food store closes pretty early, so i'm going to have to figure out how to endure this till tomorrow. I'm praying i'll be able to pick up my baby when he wakes up during the night. I'm currently on the floor trying to find a position to relieve this pain, and now I'm not sure i'll be able to get up. lol

I assume if it is costochondritis it's all contributed to my pal Lyme. Today is a day that I just hate hate hate being in pain, I'm so sick of it, so sick of not being my normal independant self. We walked around the mall today and I was looking at the other mom's chasing their babies or pushing the strollers and they didn't have to think when they walked or cringe in pain to pick up their children. Grrrr!

I think I'm also frustrated because for the first time in a long time I had 2 good days, I almost felt normal! Then wham today is worse than ever. It's that false hope that is making me upset. It's the first time I've had it since being diagnosed.

Hmmmm, I'm not sure about the forearm pain. When I said swinging a bat, I meant your chest muscles feeling pulled.

Are you on treatment?

It goes down into my forearm and then up my neck to my ear. I've been on Doxy for 7 weeks. I also take a ton of vitamins, probiotic, etc..

I have had costochondritis for years and have never had pain in my arms or up to my ears. I would call your doctor after reading that part, seriously.. take care  D

Ive had the forearm and neck/ear pain before. I got emu oil today. It helps but doesnt make it go completely away. It does hurt especially when I breathe in.

I agree with Dowa. Please let your doctor know. You don't want to fool around with chest pain especially if it's shooting through to your neck/ear.

You said chest earlier so I thought it could maybe be costo from the way you explained it but not if it's shooting through your forearm, neck, etc.
Have it checked out.

It's more on my right side than left, and I got the Quercetin and took that with the EMU Oil and the pain is almost gone. And no, I haven't had anything done but bloodwork that diagnosed me.

I have an appointment on Monday with yet another new Doc. Apparently this guy treats Lyme as a fungus, he's been in the newspaper etc... A chiropractor recommended me, he said this man cured him. We will see!

I'm glad the Emu Oil is helping. I could never find anything to help my rib pain until I tried the Emu Oil.

Good luck with this new doctor and please let him know about the shooting pain just to be on the safe side. It could also be a pinched nerve from inflammation.

I go through this on occassion. I've had the whole cardiac and brain work-up. My pshrink ALWAYS calls them "panic attacks", but I know there not.  I've finally figured out that it's a muscle spasm.  My chest wall muscles just squeeze and twist... I have to lay face down on my bed with my forehead just barely hanging off the edge and then breathe through it.  It sucks, sometimes I get up too soon and the spasm starts up again.

I take magnesium for muscle pain. The mag and calcium work together for muscles, but it's my understanding lyme bacteria consume magnesium. It has to be replaced. You can read about it yourself and see what you think.

My pain has always been skin and leg muscle pain - never chest.

And thank you for the prayers! My pain goes from feet, calves, thighs, hands, fore arms, chest, back, neck, ears, jaw... Did i cover everything?? LOL oh.. headaches sometimes.

My mom and i were sitting thinking (I had all this pain and luckily within a month or 2 of that was diagnosed with Lyme) but my mom and i look back say hmmm, i had Bells Palsy at 22 (12 yrs ago) and was told that I probably had an infected bone in my jaw, when I was about 10, I had shingles, and after that the migraines started. i've had back pain off and on for years. I also grew up on and around farms and always had ticks on us. So i guess I will really never know when I truly got Lyme.

My daughter had a lot of pain at one point when she breathed in. She ended up in the hospital. They told her it was asthma. She kept saying it wasn't. Then she noticed it got worse shortly after her antibiotics. Turns out she had developed an allergy to them and was having one of those "rare and unusual side effects".

I stopped taking my antibiotics and the pain is almost gone. Who knows if it's related or not, but that is interesting ttlittlestar. We will see what the new Doc says Monday.

I'm just bumping this back up, because I think it's related...

When this post first popped up, I had a bit of chest pain (NOT heart related, don't worry), but I didn't think it was enough to count as anything. Not so much anymore. Deep breaths, certain movements, sometimes swallowing- they all kill! It's directly on the left (my left) side of my chest, beside my breastbone, and it's this horrible aching, bruised, sometimes almost pinching feeling. From google (haha) I'm 90% sure it's costochondritis- it's in the right spot, and it's triggered by the same things. Is there anything anyone has found to make this go away? Or is there certain things I should avoid doing?

Nicky - mine wasn't a pinching feeling. It was the exactly feeling of doing a million pushups. My pecs ached. It hurt worse by breathing in or if I lifted my arms at all. It did go away after I stopped the Doxy.

Jen- that is mostly how mine feels, except when it gets really bad it almost feels like pinching. But maybe pinching wasn't the right word. And it does hurt worse if I lift my arms, or breath.

Hi to all,

I agree with the thoughts above---costochondritis, heart etc. 

Just to add another set of possibilities for chest pain:  hiatal hernia, esophageal spasms, acid reflux, and ulcers.  Too bad we have learned so much without getting a medical degree!  Plus the misery of experiencing many of these conditions first hand!

If it is costochonditis, Emu Oil really helps. Nothing I took by mouth or rub on my ribs touched the pain until usung the Emu Oil.
