Dear Lyme Bacteria,

     I HATE YOU!! I HATE YOU!!   You have taken so must from my family and I ....

What Lyme has taken from me

     1. The ability to help my son with difficult homework

     2. Vacations with my family such as... couple trips a yr to the Sand Dunes to ride 4-wheelers

                                                                 couple trips a yr to go Canoeing

                                                                 camping, boating, skiing, Amusement Parks

     3. Miss hanging out with girlfriends on weekends going to breakfast and then a day of Yard Sale hopping

     4. The ability to organizing fundraisers for March of Dimes (help the babies)

     5. The ability to jump out of bed, take a shower, get dressed and be prepared for the day. 

     6. Used to love having company, not so much anymore. ( house is a disaster)

     7. Miss being quick witted (have no energy to be funny anymore)

These are a few reasons why I Hate Lyme. I am fighting it tooth and nail.  I WILL WIN! !  (YOU HEAR THAT LYME??)

Anyone want to share a few things that Lyme has taken from them?

Lyme has taken pretty much everything from me - too long a list to post, but here are just a few of the things: Social life/friends, job/income, hobbies (travel, cooking, etc.), a long list of foods I used to enjoy, energy, nicely kept house, brain/smarts, physical fitness, etc...

Of all the things Lyme has stolen from me... my faith in the medical field is one of the most depressing. I still find it hard to believe all the lack of knowledge and compation for this disease.

my ability to keep fear at bay, my joy, my ability to focus on my kids, my ability to trust- it is almost non exisistent, my ability to be a fun spouse.. Lord help me find the will to fight this thing- i can't bear to see my children sick.

It has taken the ability to be the person I used to be. Plain and simple.... D

I don't like to acknowledge it, but fundamentally, Lyme has taken away my sense of self. My self concept was of a strong, successful, healthy person who could face adversity with confidence. That is not who I am now. Now I understand that I cannot depend on my body, and sometimes not even on my mind. I live my life through a veil of symptoms that peel layers off of my ability to interface with the world because I expend so much physical and mental energy mitigating pain before I can get to the business of interacting.

The only positive thing I can say is that when I was sick, before I knew I had Lyme, I felt like a substandard physical speciman because my body seemed to be falling apart before its time. Now that I'm diagnosed I've adjusted that perspective. What a relief to understand that actually I had a strong body able for years to supress these organisms, and that when I became sick it wasn't because of any genetic weakness, but because I was overrun with bacteria. Much better.

Dear lyme ,
I will resurrect myself like lazerus ,like this ancient thread ..i will enjoy life inbeteeen herxes and treatment ...you cannot have me or my family ...my hate for you and your creators is serving as inspiration for advocacy and awareness.
for every symptom you give i learn of a plant that the creator made to overcome your grip ..for evey system you mame i learn how to support and for every year you shorten i will live 2x as hard ...**** you lyme and the tick you rode in on
