I love this how florida declares it a NO LYME state. my sister just told me the same thing that her
rhumatoligist told her? what a riot? he also told her the ony lace you can really get diagnosed is at the
mayo clinic. she believed him too because he is a Rhumatologist.
I spent an hour on the phone with her trying to verify ( is that the work) my diagnose and blood work.
Not "verify" solidigfy? no DEFEND.. I had to DEFEND my diagnosis to my sister who totally believed me
untill she went to the rhumatologist .We are origionally from Long Iland. spend our summers on fire island
and I think my whole family is infected for years.

so my sister is convinced she couldn't possibly have it because she lives in florida, forgetting that she was
raised on Long island and goes backand forth every year.

I have to get well before i can even try to explain this to my family. My Dad has it for 35 yrs and got one shrot dose of antibiotic pills and has been half cripple all these years and in agony with pain. People are in denial even in their own family.

I thought i had an inherited condition from my Dad because i had all same symptoms. NEVER thinking it was lyme because of the NO BULLSEYE.

I should be leaving inthe next 10 days. i had to stop the low dose 50mg 2x a day doxcy . it was making me too sick to even pack .
also had to get antidepressant because I was paralyzed in a black hole of overwhem with all this. I still have to figure out
the money end of ti. I don't have all of it but have to start some place and sitting in extended stay america in seattle for 5 weeks already is enough. so I have to drive from seattle to az..

will keep you posted about everything. trying to explain to my family is hard and I need everyone support. I have to ask some friends. i don't know where to begin. Now we get to see if there is any such thing a good karma.

there re people I just told about having thelyme that never answered email and I never mentioned what treatment cost or even treatment and haven' t heard back. I am imagining them writing me off as crazy and gullible or something stupid.

I gotta do what I gotta do and I am. the trip all the way down there is a little bit much but one day at a time.

There is lyme in Florida..................one LLMD here told me about a horrid infestation noted years ago stemming from the Ocala National Forest.

When the CDC called to notify me I had tested positive for lyme (and had it) (before my LLMD did), they wanted to know where I had been to catch it and focused on a recent trip to Kentucky prior to my illness. But in hindsight, I think I got it right here on the east coast in a back yard of a house I was working on at the time.

fyi - I have been to the Mayo Clinic twice. They were absolutely positively NO HELP for me at all!  Although I have heard they are good with some healthcare, for me, they were a complete waste of time, effort, hope and money. I would never refer anyone to them.

I am so tired of hearing no lyme in Florida that if I ever see (or trust) another Doctor I will just skip the whole argument and say I vacation in the north east.
