so doxy (200mg a day) ain't cutting it. so out goes it. and the rhuemy with it.
first day with a real doc and he has put me on ceftin 500mg, going upto 1000mg on certain days, depending on how well i handle and symptoms. feels like real medicine is about to hit my system. i also go on lot of supplements and very balanced diet, rich with protein complex carb and omega 3. more bloodwork being done for high sed rate, and other co-infections of lyme. i am starting to feel good right after speaking to an llmd. confidence and faith in your doctor makes half the difference I think.
my knee is pain painful, but getting some xrays done, and maybe an mri is in order. but llmd believes its mostly the bb infection that is still very active in and that needs fixing but it looks like a wait and watch approach with it. at present I am looking for these two:
a) if anyone has some joint/cartilage/tendon pain management ideas, i am listening. i'd like to do something at home (try the natural remedies) to allivate some pain. looking into magnet therapy.
b) any experience and side effects any warnings with ceftin (Cefuroxime) and any stories you feel like sharing.

I am feeling presently: calm, itchy, mentally better, physically tired and hungry, positive and overall good that I can beat lyme.
