Very Important

I went to a lyme doc for a long time but quit maybe 5 years ago I can not remember when. I caled for records and was told they might have been tossed due to time. Does this sound reasonable? 

Like not that I am a wimp or dumb (ok a little) but if she says they were destroyed or lost what do I say?
