Hi motox1027 - I was diagnosed with Lyme last year after many exhausting months of trying to figure out what is wrong with me. I had an array of symptoms that did not make sense. I never found a tick or had a rash...that is what makes it scary. So needless to say I never suspected Lyme...and it was a shock to discover I had this disease.
Finally my husband had me write down all my symptoms and when I was done I had 65 different symptoms. I was afraid to take my list to the dr. for fear that he would think I was a hypochondriact (not spelled right - sorry). Well he did not and he sent me to see a neurologist. I gave the same list to the neuro doc and he ran a bunch of tests including an mri.
When my results came back I had a equivocal ELISA - I had 1.02 and to be considered positive you need to 1.09...Well the doc said that I was positive for Lyme...A week later my WB confirmed that I had Lyme.
I went on doxcy which made me feel alot better the first month. Then I ran out and symptoms came back...I went to a llmd and she kept me on the doxcy...she does not do IV meds. She tried me on Cipro but my stomach could not handle it.
The doxcy was like putting a bandaid on a festering wound. So I went back to see neuro...he gave me another WB and a spinal tap.
Spinal tap only showed IgG bands 39 and 58, no IgM bands
Blood work showed I was IgM positivie with bands 41 and 39
He felt that I should do 30 days on the IV meds, which he hopes will make me feel better.
I do have a new llmd that I will be seeing the end of August...so hopefully I'm on the right track finally. I don't want to be on IV meds forever, or on antibiotics. I'm hoping in time I can go with a natural approach.
I want my body to do what it is meant to do...I need to work on a lot of things....diet, exercise...I have a long road.
My first dose of antibiotics made me sweat profusely...and afterwards my left leg is tingling and weak.
