OT: Finally moving to Vermont - Scared, Happy, Anxious, Stressed!!

Hi all,

First of all I want to apologize to everyone for my bluntness and being hard on certain members, I am truly sorry..  Perhaps I should have explained my situation which I am going to do now. 

I bought my home (all by myself) 15 years ago here in NY..  As everyone knows, times are really bad and the stress of trying to keep my house has been too much for me and I don't want to relapse after being well for all this time.  I really have no one here in NY anyway (my 84 year old mother who is dysfunctional and only attacks me verbally and physically).   My best friend of 36 years lives in Vermont and that's where I am going.  I am renting my house for the time being because it won't sell with this economy. 

So for the past weeks I have been filling up contractor bags with stuff that I can't give away, packing boxes, putting stuff on Craigslist, etc.   And I am doing all of this by myself, not easy for me as for the past 15 years I managed to accumulate too many things..  No, I'm not a hoarder, lol! 

I'm happy about my new apartment in Vermont, it's beautiful there and I even have a fireplace!  Not to mention I will be in walking distance from my best friend, her daughter (who I am really close too plus her 2 little kids that I adore!)...

Yet as happy as I am about this move, I am scared, nervous, anxious, etc.    I feel like a ton is upon me with all this packing and what to get rid of, what to do with this, etc.

I have way too many clothes due to when I worked for a fancy company and had to dress up, you know, wearing suits, nice dresses, etc.   I could open up a department store with all the clothes I have.. If they were in so so shape I would just donate them..  But these are such beautiful clothes and I need to go through them one by one..  High end labels, you get the picture.  I wish I could just put them in garbage bags and forget about it..  I say to myself "hey Denise, it's just material things" no pun intended!  But I can't!   Why is this? 

So I am trying to pack as many clothes as I can in boxes (I do have a moving company I am using) and go through them at my leisure in my new place in Vermont..  Perhaps I can sell many of these clothes and only keep what I really want and need..

So I am stressed out..  I know once I arrive in Vermont I will feel relieved and peaceful.. 

Also, I am worried about the drive (it's 4 hours) with my 2 cats!  They are not used to a car and I don't know if I should separate them (they are brother and sister) or put them in the same crate.   They are not going to like this trip at all... 

Any advice and/or luck would be much appreciated.

Of course, my dear Denutsy, you have all of the care & support I can muster!!! You have been a great friend to all here on HW!!! I wish you all the best in your move & in your new town!!!!

Just keep on focusing on how you will feel when you finally make it to your new place in Vermont!!! All the while, of course, making sure you don't send yourself down the tubes for another 'fun' ride with Lyme & buddies!!! I think the idea of you just taking all of the clothes you can with you & sell them more at your leisure when you get to your new place would take a lot of stress off of you!!

You are just about through all of this change & before you know it you will be standing in front of your new fireplace!!! Hang in there & keep destressing & detoxing!! I am really glad to hear that you have hired a moving company!!! That has got to be a huge weight off of your shoulders - no pun intended!!! smilewinkgrin

As far as your little kitties go, if they are comforted by the presence of each other, I would suggest you keep them together in a small traveling crate, with a towel or something over the top to make it mostly dark, and put an old towel - that you no longer want - on the bottom. Be sure they have plenty of ventilation though, please.

However, if the are not comforted by each other or tend to fight when stressed, I would suggest that you put them in separate crates, setting each of them up as I suggested above. . Don't try to leave food or water in there with them though, it'll just be dumped all over the bottom of the crate, mixed with scared kitty pee!! Just be sure to stop at least twice during your trip to offer them some water.

Once you get there, prepare a bedroom to leave them in while you unload your car. Put in their cat box, water, and food & close the door securely.

Please remember to eat as well as possible!!!

BUT, most of all - relax!! and enjoy your new life!!!! <3

First of all, congratulations on your move and your willingness to take on a new and exciting phase of life. I wish you all the best, good health and happiness.

Second: Travel light. Maybe take the clothes to a consignment? You may make a little on them and get them out of your life - makes moving easier.

Third: Get tranquilizers from the vet for your cat. They will travel better and you will be glad you did. I did it with my cat. He was out of it for a day or so, meowed quite a bit then just fine.

Congrats!!! I know how long you've been trying to get this done. I know the overwhelming feeling. When we moved a few months ago, I had that same feeling and I was just moving next door, LOL. YOU WILL BE OKAY!! You are a very strong woman and you will get through this. If I were you, I wouldn't stress about the clothes right now. Just pack everything and bring it with you. You can always go through it when you get to your new apartment. You may get rid of something and regret it, so take your time with it. You may just need those clothes again...you never know.

Anyway, I'm so happy for you!!! Please keep me updated! Big hugs hun! You will be so much happier:):)

Denise, Sounds like this is a positive move. I wish you all the best in your new space. If you have the time and inclination, you might want to consign a few clothes and take the rest with you. That would put me in the middle of Caldonia Sun and Cajun Girl for ideas!!

Please do NOT consider what I'm saying next a negative because it isn't....and most of my ideas come from experience...!!!! The beauty of this move is that you aren't doing anything that can't be undone. If for any reason whatsoever this move doesn't work out, you've kept your home in NY and could always move back, if you want to. I wasn't so smart....well, in some ways I was; in others not so terribly. about 12 years ago I had a mid-life crisis and filed for divorce, left my husband of 35 years and moved 12 hours south to Atlanta. My best friend's brother lived there and I thought he was the answer to all my problems. 5 years later the divorce still wasn't final, the wonderboy had turned into the anti-christ, I was in a downward spiral....and I was homesick.....with no "home" to return to. So I moved back to all things familiar and lived with a good friend of mine who generously opened her home, I went back to work part-time, the divorce was final after only SIX YEARS, and then I met up with my current husband. He was no stranger since we had met in sixth grade.... OK, I tell you this because no matter what we have planned, we have to always be open to Plan B!!!!! Who knows what wonderful things are in store for you!!!!

And Trav, obviously you are a cat lover..... I can only reiterate that you do not put food or water in the cats' cages. I've hauled a lot of cats and I've had poopers, peers and pukers. I use the green underpads like they put under people in hospitals or even puppy pee pads in the crates. They're absorbent and easily changeable....and actually comfortable. Just put the rest of the package somewhere close by in the event you have to change one of the little darlings during transit. Sedatives are optional. I've done both. And, yes, covering the crate with a piece of sheet or towel (allowing ventilation) will calm them. I used to work with an organization that did spay/neuters of feral cats and it was amazing how much it would calm them if they thought they were hiding.

Congratulations on your upcoming move. I hope the trip goes well and you and the cats arrive unscathed. Your new place sounds beautiful. I love a fireplace. That will be so cozy this winter. I've consigned a lot of clothes recently because I am no longer working. A few I regret selling, but mostly I am glad to have the money and the opportunity to lighten my load of "stuff." In my view, it would be easier to consign at your new location unless you are willing to donate everything that does not sell. If the clothes are close by, you can get them back if you need to.

Dear Denise,

How well I relate to some of that stress! We just moved too, not with cats but with two small children. Congratulations on your move to be closer to your friend....it's so important to be close to your friends and loved ones. As the years go by I become more and more aware of that fact!

Best wishes to you for a safe, successful move, happy cats, and ultimately peace and joy in your new place!

I'm an animal lover, too...I probably treat my cat better than some people treat their children! :) I don't know where you're moving to in Vermont, but if it's anywhere central, I am more than willing to do what I can to help.

I've heard that tranquilizing cats has its pros and cons. I was considering a possible move last year and when I looked into tranquilizing my cat for the plane, I didn't like what I saw... I'm sure it's safe for the most part, but the potential side effects were too scary for me. I've actually heard the opposite of what Mamyou suggested - that you SHOULD make sure the cat has water while travelling (my cat carrier even has an attachment for food and water. Are you coming from the city or upstate - how long of a drive is it? If you're really worried, you could always get a hotel room to break up the drive and give the cats a chance to get out of their carriers, use the litter box, etc. The other thing I've used is pheromone spray (made by Feliway and available on Amazon.com or any online pet store)...I really do think it works to comfort them, along with their favorite blanket and toy... They sell some really great stuff for traveling with pets, too! Give your vet a call and explain your concerns and see what they say...

Hi all and thanks so much for the congrats and advice, so helpful!  Yes indeedy!

My cats are very close (kissing each other all the time, playing together, etc.) so I will put them in the same crate.  I am not going to sedate them because it's not a long drive really..  They are calm cats and will probably meow alot in the beginning but will calm down... 

I wonder what the reason is for covering the crate?   So they can't see where they are going?  LOL!

Anyway, I never knew about consignment shops before I posted this so wow, what a great idea, thanks!  I didi find one not far from me called... are you ready?  Okay, it's called Kiss It Goodbye.  They hold the clothes for 90 days and if they don't sell, it's goodbye, LOL!  I may look for a mannequin from a store that's going out of business and try to sell myself, don't know yet..  I will have the room since my new place has 3 bedrooms and it's just me and my 2 cats.. 

Anyway, I have packed away almost 1/2 of my closet already (don't want to say how many large boxes I filled, oh boy!)...  I am thinking before I tape the boxes shut I could put some fragiles in-between the clothes to protect them...  Whadda think?

Yes, I am tired between working, packing, and reminding myself to eat..  I am just so happy about this move.

Trav, you crack me up!  Yes, I am picturing myself standing or sitting in front of my fireplace with the wood burning and crackling..  I love fire (hey, I was a pyro when I was a kid, LOL!).

Caldonia, I think (I hope) my cats will be fine without the sedatives since they are calm and laid back cats..  I can always bring some with me just in case but it's really not a long drive and I'm sure they will just go to sleep in the crate (I will make it really comfy for them and protect the bottom in case of
cat pee)...

CG, even moving around the corner can be stressful... before I bought my house I was living around the corner for over 10 years where I originally accumulated all my furniture and whatnot..  So I know the feeling...

Mamyou, you are so right, just in case it doesn't work out (though I don't see how it won't), I still have my house..   Hey, I was stupid before when it came to divorcing my 1st husband, I wish I never did that.. He was so good to me and I really loved him... I divorced him for a stupid reason which I will talk about in another thread and to this day I miss him as he passed away from cancer..  He treated me the best..  Oh well, I was young and stupid.  Can't change the past, right?   I try to live in the moment..  Now my ex-boyfriend wants to get back with me, oh golly, never a dull moment!  I'm getting too old for all of this...

Actually, I only rented part of my house, my tenant of 2 years is staying on because he loves it here..  And I trust him totally (and I don't trust most people)..  He is a great guy (too bad he isn't 20 years older!

Rose, thanks for the good wishes.. yes, I will look into consignment shops where I am moving to, I am sure they have some.   Right now it's easier for me just to pack everything and then once I am in Vermont I can go through each piece one by one at my own leisure without any pressure...  Less stress the better...

JoAnn, thanks!  Yes, I really don't have a life here which is another reason I am moving.. I miss my best friend and her family sooooo much!   It's time for me to start having fun again instead of working all the time..    I will get through this and I just can't wait already until I am finally there..

Rachel, I am moving to Southern Vermont near Bennington which is on the border of Mass. and NY so I am actually only 4 hours away from Long Island..  So it's  not a long drive at all..  I think they could do without water for 4 hours, what do you think?

I love animals, always have.   Dogs and cats both..  My best friend told me the other day a cow got loose, LOL!  I asked her if there was a dairy farm close by but she said no, it's a family that just owns a cow and some chickens..  And she also told me that when I arrive it will be Moose Rutting Season, wow, can't wait to see a moose as I am a nature girl..   Will take photographs..

Well, I am tired and it's time for me to go to bed....

First of all, everyone gave such great, practical advice.

REALLY, you should be a writer. I am still LOL after reading your post and comments to everyone. That was a fun read.

With all you've been through in your life (and that's just so far!!!) I have a feeling that four hour drive will be a piece of cake for you and cats. But, on the other hand, I'm sure it'll turn into an adventure of some kind. Seems adventure just follows you or it's just there waiting for you. You're a fun person.

I look forward to reading your next OT thread, oh yes, and the photographs.

A very wise person on HW told me...eat right, keep the stress levels down, detox, detox, detox, and a bunch of other stuff.

I'm just outside of Montpelier - I think Bennington is probably a near 3-hour drive from here. I think you're right - four hours shouldn't be too hard on the cats! Of course, I dread even taking my cat to the vet which is a 10 minute drive listening to howling like you'd think the poor thing was dying!

I will tell you I've had a few encounters with loose cattle on the road in my lifetime...only in Vermont! It is usually the smaller/backyard-type farms that have animals sneaking out on occasion. I've only seen moose a handful of times - I usually pray that I don't because they are VERY dangerous if they get into the road...they're massive (and stupid) animals and can completely destroy a vehicle...but they're fascinating to look at! There's usually a line of cars stopped on the side of the road when one is spotted.

Deejavu, Well, never rule out an EX-boyfriend...but then, he's an EX for a reason!!!!! We would all change things if we had a do-over...but especially in the circumstance of death, we don't. You are blessed that it's a happy move.

I stand by my statement that the cats don't need food & water in their crate. If your trip is 4 hours, you can offer them something when you stop to gas up, potty or whatever. If, for any reason, you have to slam on your brakes, the little darlings are covered, not to mention their bedding. Also, if your cats are nervous eaters (eating because they're worried, etc.), you might end up cleaning up cat barf in an unnecessary amount. But think like a cat....if you think one or both might get out of the crate, then tend them with all the doors shut during the trip.

Covering a crate just makes them more secure. If they're calm cats, I'd still cover at least half of it.

Oh, madrivergirl, I'd love to see a moose in the road. Maybe not up close and personal, but would like to see one ambling across or beside!!

Mamyou...careful what you wish for - LOL!!! I had one run out in front of me on a very busy road and just from it prancing across, in front of my car, my windshield was covered in mud. They really are HUGE! There was one on the interstate a few years ago, too - I remember this woman stopped her car, with canoe on top, and was standing in the middle of the lane waving people down. She was in such a frenzie she asked ME to move her car out of the way! Unfortunately many people have died in auto accidents hitting moose. :(

Morning all,

Rhonda, I'm glad I made you laugh, laughter is such good medicine!  I even crack myself up sometimes, I really do!  :0)

I upped my detox baths (naturally dry skin brushing first) and to be blunt, there is only ONE thing I will miss, my whirlpool tub with 8 jets, yeah!   That tub is soooooo relaxing, it has to be the next best thing to getting a human massage..   I looked at the prices of whirlpool tubs at Home Depot and if I really, really love my new place I just may invest in a whirlpool..  But that's in the future, I am too busy packing away and tying up the loose ends here.. 

Okay, I am most definitely going to cover the crate leaving breathing room... Funny, my cats don't drink much water normally, perhaps because I feed them only wet food? 

Ahhhh, Moose!  My best friend told me that the moose are not nearby and in order to see them (from a distance), she is going to drive me over a Mountain to view the moose..  By the time I arrive it will be Moose Mating Season..  Hmmm, wonder how moose mate?  Well, as I said I will bring my camera and take photo's.

Mamyou, you crack me up when you said "not up close and personal", LOLOLOL!   That hit my funny bone..  As far as the ex, he was really never officially an EX.. We have had problems and always tried to resolve them..  He wants to move to Vermont and I told him NO!!  I did tell him that I would be fine with him visiting me there and we can take it from there..  It's just a crazy relationship as we are both 2 intense Scorpio's... Need I say more?  I do love the guy and he has asked me to marry him several times already..  I don't want to get married again.. Not at my age!  I don't need a piece of paper to prove anything..

Rachel, wow, can't believe you had a moose run in front of your car, that must have been scary!  My Dad used to go deer hunting and he told me stories about deer running in front of cars.. The deer would total the car... As far as I know, the only animals running loose are cows and chickens.. Yes, there are plenty of deer but I'm used to that as I have seen so much deer on Long Island.. 

I am getting so excited about this move!  I have a huge fear of heights but for some reason I am thinking of taking skiiing lessons, time to face my fears!  It's not going down the mountain on ski's, it's the electrical seats that bring you up to the mountain, that's what I am scared of... Duh! 

So that's it for now..  I'm eating better and doing extra detoxing..

Yes, moose aren't very smart and they often do run out into the road (just like deer, but moose are so much bigger that it's just so dangerous when they do!). We have tons of deer here where I live, too. I just saw two in the driveway a couple of days ago - sadly, it's only another reminder of deer ticks now.

My cat had a bad urinary tract disease when he was born - the vet said she'd never seen so many crystals in a cat's urine...so I had him on an all-wet (prescription) food diet for a while. He recovered from it and is fine now, but I have a big pet water fountain to encourage him to drink more water (though he still goes for the faucet every time!). He does get a lot of his water intake from wet food, but he eats a lot of dry food, too. The few people I've known who have only fed their cats wet food have ended up with very bad dental problems later in the cat's life. :/

Well, yesterday I had my first garage sale and I made some money which was good to help pay the movers and get rid of things I didn't need.   I did it all by myself and it turned out good..  I was really nervous about having a garage sale but I'm glad I did it!

Time is getting closer and I'm getting closer to being all packed.  I'm tired, I really am even though I am doing all the right things..  I guess lugging up a 50 pound (no kidding) huge tool chest from my basement to outside took some wind out of me, hey, I'm going to be 54 soon!  LOL!   I still think I can lift heavy things with no problems like I did in my 20's.. 

So Moose are stupid?  Well, whether stupid or not, I am not getting close to them, no way!   And I'm not going to pet any deer either..  I'm not afraid of ticks because I see them all the time where I'm living now..  I'm just glad I know what to do in case I do get bit no matter where I live..  Ticks, mosquito's, flea's, black flies are everywhere..   Can't escape them.

Rachel, so glad your cat is okay now..   

I had my cats on "controlled" dry food (even tried organic dry food) but my cats gain sooo much weight even if I only give them 1/4 or 1/8 of a cup of dry food..  I don't know why that is but they get really fat no matter what brand or amount I have tried..  Before I went on a diet my female would take my tortilla chips out of the bag and help herself!   Yes, my cats are addicted to carbs.. Who would have thought?  LOL!  

So what's better?  To have fat cats with good teeth or thin cats with bad teeth?  They do use their teeth for their toys..  Not sure if that helps and I doubt they will let me brush their teeth, LOL!   I'm going to have a hard time putting them in the crate, especially my female (wow, she is fast and smart).   I remember when I took them to the vet to get them fixed and get their shots, I had to take them separately..   So I will give myself at least an hour to get them both in the same crate, LOL!  Not looking forward to that at all..

Thanks, Denise! Morgan is the opposite - he eats and eat and eats and doesn't put on weight. By the end of summer I'm usually panicking because he gets so skinny... He's a natural-born hunter and lives to be outside, climbing trees, chasing squirrels, chipmunks, and birds, watching mole holes, and running around like a maniac. I hadn't planned on letting him out but if he misses even one day, he drives me absolutely batty and will tear up the whole apartment. I guess it must be his high level of activity because he probably eats 3 cans a day (the little Fancy Feast ones) and tons of dry food (I have a dog food-sized bowl I keep full of dry food). Morgan isn't much interested in people food (I've tried chicken and other meats); he does like tuna fish and LOVES Pepperidge Farm Goldfish. ;) I give him lots of treats, too - you WOULD THINK he'd be a fat cat!!!

The wet food alone does cause their teeth to rot and my vet has mentioned to me that Morgan may need his teeth cleaned at some point, just because he still has wet food in his diet. It's just something to keep in mind, especially if their whole diet consists of wet food. I know you said you tried all kinds of dry food - do you know about the "diet" blends they make?

I know I already mentioned this, but the Feliway pheromone spray might really help... They also make an herbal tincture for cat anxiety (I have a bottle and I can't remember if it's also by Feliway...I will have to look).

Morgan has some life with all his hunting!  That's amazing how much he eats, golly!  I'm laughing that he likes Pepperidge Farm Goldfish, LOL!  

I won't let my cats out..  I let them hunt inside..  Then I take time out every day and get out their "special toys" with the wand and bird attached and I get my arm exercise twirling that wand around..  It's so funny to watch my cats go crazy with that toy.. 

Okay, I ordered the Feliway after researching it and I figure I have nothing to lose except the money..  The reviews are excellent! 

And after carefully observing my cats I decided to put them in 2 separate crates as my female is batting her brother with her paw (and he's so much bigger than her!)..  My logic is that by keeping them in 2 separate crates would be safer just in case they did get into a fight..  I wouldn't want to pull over and separate them as I am driving since I am driving alone..  Better to be on the safe side... 

I will look into the special diet dry food once I am settled into my new place..  My cable is ready to be hooked up, my electric will be turned on tomorrow, and I still have a bit more packing to do..   I feel pretty good and I'm just sooooooo excited!   I wish I was there already, yeah!

Does Morgan ever bring any of his prizes into your house?

madrivergirl30 - Sorry to jump in here.... Since you mention talking to your vet, I'm sure you know this, but with the cats being such great hunters (as mine are....it's chipmunk season in PA and they all love to hunt the "munkies"....) you know they can easily pick up tapeworms? I found out an expensive lesson when I lived in Atlanta, that fecal floats don't test for tapeworm and you don't always see that little grain of rice looking thing on their tails..... Or maybe your little darling is like my one and is blessed with a good metabolism and a svelte figure.... Just wanted to mention that since it sounds like you're feeding Morgan plenty of the "better" food w/o it staying with him. Mine will go out in the morning early and not show up until almost dark when the hunting is good.... I make sure I worm them a time or two a year with a specific tapeworm medicine.

I know this has nothing to do with lyme.....!!!!!

Sorry I haven't been on in a while to reply - I went through over a week of having the wrong pain medication, compliments of the local pharmacist! I'm just so glad I called to find out what was going on (and know that it wasn't all in my head!)...turns out I was given immediate release instead of extended release, making me feel GREAT for about two hours, then terrible for the remaining six!

Denise - I'm glad you got the Feliway. It's no miracle, but I think it does help... I think I may have already told you that I did intend to keep Morgan inside (I've only had one other cat prior to him and he was indoor only), but he was so rambunctious and was DETERMINED to get outside! I tried every kind of toy, but he would only stay interested temporarily. I started very slowly, taking him for quick "walks" with me to the mailbox, etc., just holding him, then letting him go on his own, supervised, until I finally let go and let him out on his own. I wasn't crazy about it, but I live on a dirt road in the country on 11 acres and it's probably one of the safer places to have an outdoor cat...and he's SO much happier being outside. But, unless it's beautiful outside, he does usually come in every two or three hours, and living on the second floor hasn't made that easy!

Haha...yes, I've dealt with one deceased chipmunk, bird, and hummingbird...those were sad days! He also managed to chase a LIVE chipmunk up the stairs and inside, which I finally caught in a laundry basket and returned to nature safely!

Mamyou - I honestly don't know much about tapeworms. I'm vigilant about making sure Morgan has all his shots and sees the vet on schedule, but these are things I do worry about. I get so confused with all the vaccinations - is tapeworm something they can't be vaccinated for? He actually has put some weight on since fall has set in with the colder weather, which I'm happy about since he was looking so scrawny for a while there...! Not that I need something else to worry about, but I would like to know more information about this... Thank you!

Hi all,

Well, I love Vermont so very much!  Even though I visited Vermont before, it's so different living here just looking out my windows first thing when I wake and seeing the beautiful mountains and foliage (still lots of pretty foliage)..   I feel so connected to the nature surrounding me, it has a HUGE calming effect on me.. Less people, not many cars on the roads, it's a different world..  I wonder now why I didn't make this move sooner.. I guess fear played a huge role, change is scary but I did it and I have no regrets!

My cats surprised me during the drive to VT as my female (who I thought was going to be the screamer) was completely quiet and it was my male who let out some meows (and he's very laid back).. I didn't need the Feliway, all I had to do was stick a finger through the crate when I could and touch my cats and they became calm and even purred!  I did get lost (shame on me because I made the drive before) but I was overtired from all the packing so I made a wrong turn somewhere.. that was not fun!  I think I need a GPS attached to my brain, LOL!  shocked

My Mom surprised me as before I got in my car and left she burst into tears and said to me "now I am going to be all alone"..  Anyway, my Mom bought me a GPS system so I can drive back and forth without worrying about getting lost..  There are so many different roads to take and I don't like the main interstates because I get too bored when I drive alone, I prefer taking the country roads, more interesting and it's almost the same time frame.. about 4 hours.

I'm still unpacking as I want everything organized and believe it or not, I have been working.. I'm still learning the town roads and where everything is.   My cats already adjusted and love it here..  My best friend is thrilled that I am here and one day we were shopping and she got hungry so we stopped at a drive-thru at Taco Bell where there was a running stream, wow, so beautiful!   We already went looking for moose,  didn't see any moose or wildlife but I was taken back with all the scenery.. I had 2 different cameras with me and took some beautiful scenic pictures..  Lakes, rivers, streams, waterfalls, mountains, etc.   

I would never live in NY ever again..  I am in love with Vermont, can you tell?  I can't wait until it snows.. hey, with my menopause I can lay in the snow and melt the entire state...  Yeah, I'm nuts!  tongue

My place is great, already used the fireplace for ambience..  Just wanted to update everyone..

So glad to hear how well things are going!!! Glad to hear that the trip went so well & you are now close to your friend!!

My hubby never gets lost, he just "finds" a more scenic route!!!! giggle!!!
