Hi All!
Does anyone have a recommendation for an over the counter med to help with the headaches? I'm really struggling this week.
Thanks!

The only thing that helps me is Excedrine. It takes the headache away but it does make me shake because it has caffeine in it. If my headache is bad enough, I would rather shake than hurt, so I take Excedrine.
Hope your headache goes away soon!

Have you been tested for coinfections? My headaches have significantly decreased with longterm antibiotics.

I used Imitrex for migraines for years, then discovered that a gluten-free, corn-free diet helped make the migraines go away... but now when I get a headache, the Imitrex doesn't work... Sometimes Benadryl helps, depending on whether or not I have a sinus headache. Usually though, going to bed is my only option now...since my stomach hates all OTC and Rx pain meds.

Aspirin. I've tried EVERYTHING, although I can't take the Imitrex/Maxalt/etc. type medications - I get a very bad reaction in my head that makes me feel like someone is squeezing my brain!
Seriously - Aspirin works better than any dose of narcotics! I usually buy Excedrin Migraine (or any other kind of Excedrin - they're all the same anyway), which contains Aspirin and Caffeine (along with Acetaminophen, I think!).

I take Naproxen - also known as Aleve. It can do a lot for me if I can 'catch' the pain early enough. You can take up to 2 & 1/2 tabs in a dose (this is prescript
ion strength), but be sure to wait 8 hours before you take any more Naproxen or any other pain meds.
