I took a shot at seeing a very good sports med. doctor concerning my tennis elbow and stiff neck/shoulder/arm etc. which still have not resolved. Better but not nearly gone.... and just when I think it IS gone--- and have a good day---it comes back.
Doc did all kinds of physical tests and was certain I have this syndrome. Hmmmmm. He did not discount Lyme but felt it was unlikely that it would be causing these specific problems.
He also felt my recurring ankle pain is a result of stiff calf muscles pulling on all the tendons in my foot. Again....probably not Lyme related in his opinion.
Could very well be. But then again.....
At any rate...he sent me home with a thera-band and a list of exercises meant to eventually release the compressed nerves that lie deep under the trapezius muscle (the root of the problem)......and others to stretch calf and others to improve range of motion in shoulder.
What a mess! Feels like my entire body is seizing up and fighting me daily....so I'll try ANYTHING. He said it would take time and that I had to be committed to doing the exercises.
Am awaiting new blood test results for Lyme taken by new LLMD who suggested I up my Doxy dose (in the meantime, just to be safe)....but it's sooooo tough on my stomach even with food and spacing it out.
He of course didn't like the 'indeterminant' results from my first test and wants to keep testing until this is figured out.
He feels you have to test at exactly the right time.....that ''time' being a mystery and basically a crap shoot. Thus....keep testing.
Also watched 'Under Our Skin'. Wow! Enlightening, scary, infuriating!
