Horrible back pain

My daughter was diagnosed with lyme and bartonella.  We have read the comments many times but for some reason have not been able to post anything.

She is 23 years old and in pain most of the time.  All we do is pray. We were seeing another doctor but not much luck there. 

Tomorrow we are going to a new LLMD in Mo.  He offers prolo injections. 

My question is has anyone ever tried these injections and if so did they help?  I am so nervous about it.  Of course we don't have to do it so I am asking God to lead us in the right direction. 

She also has these blanching spots on her back.  I don't know how to describe them but as to say when she is at her worse the spots are more visible and her back will also be very red. 

I have many questions but I just want to see if someone gets to read this post.

Any help will be most appreciated.

Is she on antibiotics yet? Make sure you read the post on detoxing. Alot of the symptoms are from toxins if she is on antibiotics already. I did have flank pain and back pain in the beginning and used to use a heating pad which really helped.

Bartonella can cause strange rashes. Has she had blood work? How long has she been sick? Keep coming back and asking questions. Usually someone on the board will offer some advice. This site was truly a lifesaver for me. I too have lyme, bartonella and erlichosis. I wish you the best of luck.

Oh thank you so much for replying. Just hearing from someone is a comfort. She was diagnosed in April of 2009. (Igenix test) We started antibiotics at that time. She has taken many of them, now she is on the Bicillin LA shots. She is having one herx reaction after another.

She has had terrible back and muscle pain from the beginning. We are detoxing but maybe not correctly. I will read the post.

Springjeans can you tell what is flank pain?

Springjeans, did you have a rash that is under the skin?. Its like blanching spots on her back. At times they are very noticeable and this is when the pain is worse. The spots will also be surrounded by red jagged type circles. All under her skin.

Also the skin on her back is very sensitive to touch. She can barely ride in a vehicle. Only wears very loose clothing and she is not able to wear a bra.

Any help out there would be so welcomed!

deltagirl, how'd it go at the new LLMD?

I'm concerned that she's still having significant neurological symptoms after being on antibiotics for over 1 1/2years now.

Physical therapy, moist/heat packs and "tiger balm" have really helped my back pains. But I don't think she'll be able to handle that yet because of the skin sensitivity.

Bicillin shots really helped a friend of my. I'm on IV Rocephin right now, cause I'm allergic to the bicillin.

my prayers are with you! I know first hand what Lyme can do to you spiritually.....keep praying!!

Hi Lisa, Thanks for asking about my baby. It means alot to know that others care. The new Doc was absolutely wonderful. He knew so much more than our last.

We did try the prolo injections. It was painful but she wanted to go for it. You can google it and see what you find about it. As for as the pain of course she has some. As of now the pain in her right shoulder is much less. But we don't know if this is a lasting effect or what. She got a total of 7 syringes in different areas. Sore but so far so good! Not a cure tho just hopefully some relief. I am going to post a new thread in a few days and let all know how she is doing.

Lisa, Can you tell what protocol you follow? There are so many. We have been doing the one here at the get started forum. It does help with her pain some. The doctor suggested we build a sauna. He said we could buy a kit for 1000 off the internet.

I have a brother who is a carpenter by trade so her could build it for sure.

We do moist heat and will check out the tiger balm. Thanks for the info.
