All,

I have pretty much constant headaches...sometimes dull pressure, like someone squeezing my head, sometimes at the base of the head in the back near my neck and sometimes like an ice pick in between my eyes.  I know I am not dehydrated, I drink well over a gallon of water every day (I'm thirsty all the time)...

I am being treated for lyme, but this symptom seems to be getting worse, or maybe I just notice them more now that other parts of me are starting to feel better...

My question is...is this the bugs acting out in my brain, side effects of meds, or (I can't remember the third point)??  Anyone else have this symtom.  Is this a neuro symptom?

Also, I'm starting Flagyl tomorrow. I'm scared of the side effects. I've been on Tetra for about 2 months (which I have to take with food or I get sick) Are these meds complimentary?  I read somewhere that Flagyl decreases the efficacy of Tetra.  Also, silly question but are Tetra and Doxy the same thing?  I never hear anyone say they are on Tetra...

I had headaches every single day for three years. No one believed me. It was like my head was in a vise. I thought it was anxiety, my teeth, my jaw, gum chewing, etc. etc. etc. However, when I finally got diagnosed and started treatment they were one of the first symptoms to go. Not that I don't get them now and then but not all day every day like before. I have been on antibiotics for 20 months and believe it was probably coinfections that were giving me the headaches. Are you on tetracycline? I looked in my Top 10 Lyme treatments and tetracycline and doxy are both tetracyclines along with minocycline which I have been on.I am now on roxythyromycin. They are all considered acceptable choices for treatment. Flagyl is a different type of drug. I just ask my LLMD about it and she said it is rough. She recommended grapefruit seed extract as a cyst buster which is what flagyl does too along with being an antibiotic. Best of luck to you.
