So apparently I've been Lymed... Stinkin' ticks are ticking me off now!

The idea that a bacteria coming from a nasty pests intestines could be floating around my body made me want to hurry up and know the facts. So I went to Urgent Care last night. Turns out that the rash is a Lyme rash. I am now on 3 weeks of doxycycline and the doctor also game me 30 pills of 600 mg of motrin. Not sure why I need the motrin. Maybe for the shoulder pain? I also started getting an itchy throat and came down with some congestion and flu like symptoms again. The doctor said the congestion could be a cold or it could be a symptom of the Lyme.

I'm confused though... They diagnosed me with Lyme. The paper they gave me called it Rash with Arthralgia Lyme Disease. Yet they are sending off a blood test for culture testing. So is it Lyme or is it not? If it is why the culture and if its a chance that it is not then why hit me with antibiotics. After all the culture test will be back in 2 or 3 days. Why not wait?

It's hard to believe that you found someone who was willing to diagnose LD at a walk-in clinic, but it seems that you have!! That is really great news, actually , as now you are on the abx. That doc is also correct in saying that your congestion & flu-like symptoms could easily be from the LD, but it is the flu season as well.

What dosage of Doxy are you on? It needs to be at least 200 mgs each day. Unfortunately, 3 weeks most likely not be long enough to rid your body of this bacteria.

What this doesdo is get you started on some treatment until you can get in to see a LLMD. Have you been able to locate one yet?

The diagnosis is that you have LD, because of that specific type of rash that you have. LD is the only thing known to produce that type of a rash.

If this doc is doing things like they should be done, s/he is sending your blood out for CDC tracking purposes. As for why not to wait? LD has three different forms that it 'rotates' through in our bodies - if it hasn't gone dormant.

ABX are only effective at the right dose, at the right time of their little life cycle. Most LLMD's recommend at least 2 months of abx to make sure that those little buggers have gone through a couple of life cycles in order to kill as many of them as possible.

The testing that is available for LD leaves a lot to be desired - there is no way to tell if someone has actually eradicated LD from their bodies because it can go dormant for decades.

As the quote goes in my signature line - "Absence of proof is NOT proof of absence" - unfortunately.

Another thing that is highly suggested by many knowledgeable LLMD's is detoxing. Have you started detoxing yet?
