10 minutes before receiving the Rocephin IV, a nurse let me have some apple juice and the juice tasted absolutely fine.

But not even 30 minutes after receiving the Rocephin IV, I tried eating some food and that's when I noticed it tasted really weird. I tried drinking water, but even the water was a strange salty taste. I tried chocolate, same thing! That's when I realized my "sweet" tastebuds were super dampened. "Sweet" is not completely gone, just so light I can barely taste it.

That was Wednesday. It's Sunday now and this still hasn't gone away... even though I've stopped receiving Rocephin.


@LupnerRN: If you come up with a solution, or you're better after a period of time, please let me know!! I really hope this is temporary and not permanent!!

Hi Watermist and welcome, I have been taking rocephin for about 2 weeks now. I also have a terrible taste in my mouth all the time that started with rocephin treatment. Nothing tastes very good and on top of that it seems to make me belch. The most terrible taste is when I belch. The gas that comes out of my stomach is deadly. It definitely tastes like medicine. I can't wait until this treatment is done. I am beginning to see improvement. Are you still having rocephin treatment? Do you get a few days off treatment?
