jrain,
Sorry to hear you aren't doing well. I can't help but to think back over a year ago when I came here and asked that very questions about the Cowden protocol. Actually, I was investigating Cowden, Zhang and Buhner.
A gal who goes by the name of Deejavu here responded to my post and asked if I had considered the Jernigan Protocol. I told her I never heard of it. After checking it out I decided to go to Wichita, KS, for the two week protocol and came home and continued the protocol for one year. I can finally say I'm doing much better now.
It isn't my intention to steer you away from the Cowden protocol, so don't think that's my intent. Just telling you how I got better. In fact, I believe this protocol saved my life. There's a thread here somewhere titled,"Hansa Center--Update". It pretty much shares my healing journey and experiences on the protocol.
I'm not 100% yet, but I'm also no longer bedridden as I was over one year ago. I could only work about three days a month back then, now I work everyday. I could not travel in a car for more then fifteen minutes. Now I can drive anywhere and fly across the country to see our grandkids in Florida. Over one year ago that would not have been remotely possible.
I had lost all hope of living and was planning my funeral, but the day I came here to Healing Well and Deejavu asked me if I had heard of this protocol, that was the day God intervened in my life and used this wonderful lady to lead me to this very knowledgable Biological Doctor.
Please look up my posts and look up Deejavu's posts and learn more about this protocol--ONLY if you are interested. Deejavu will be glad to answer any questions you have about the protocol. The neat thing about Deejavu is that she actually didn't go to the clinic to get better, she bought Dr. J's book, "Beating Lyme Disease" and within 9 months got better by following the protocol in his book. I was too sick to do that, so I chose to go to the clinic so I could get all of the treatments, therapies and spend time there learning what I needed to do to get better. It's expensive, but if it helps you to get better, it's priceless.
Again, I'm not trying to steer you away from the Cowden protocol. Had Deejavu not told me about the Jernigan protocol I would have tried the Cowden protocol myself, after all, that's what I came here to initially research. I hope some others who have had some success with the Cowden protocol come around and give you some advice and encourage you on this. I'm sure there are others that have gotten better on it.
I pray things start getting better for you soon!
Gary
