The symptoms of Neuro Lyme and Bart are quite similar, but it does seem that Neuro Lyme symptoms are a little more "intense".
The symptoms of both Bart & Neuro Lyme affect the central nervous system. Symptoms of Bart (according to Dr. Burrascano's writings) are "CNS (Central Nervous System) out of proportion to the other systemic symptoms of chronic Lyme. "...with an
increased irritability to the CNS, with agitation, anxiety, insomnia, and even seizures" - cognitive deficits, confusion as well as gastritis, lower abdominal pain, sore soles (especially in the a.m.) tender nodules under the skin along legs & arms and red rashes. (WHEW!)
The symptoms of Neuro Lyme include numbness and tingling sensations in the hands or feet, and pain and weakness in various areas of the body, as well as have shooting and /or burning pains. Other symptoms that a person might develop - Bell's palsy, a lack of muscle coordination, visual disturbances and symptoms of meningitis (fever, stiff neck and severe headaches), difficulty concentrating. You may also be irritable, have trouble with your memory and difficulty sleeping.
you may develop mood disturbances and a burning sensation in the arms and/or legs. If the nerves that carry signals to the heart are affected, you may develop heart rhythm irregularities and heart palpitations.
So, after all of that, I can truly say, the difference between the two is still a bit fuzzy in my brain!!! LOL!
Although I do hope this helps some!!
