Just gets more bizarre!

So tonight I am doing my nightly lyme homework and come across the Marshall Protocol.  Never really read much on it but lo and behold something caught my eye - BENICAR !  My husband had just started on Benicar on April 30th, before his whole health nightmare began.  The article I was reading actually goes on to say that you can do a "therapeutic probe" and if you have psychic or systemic reaction to taking Benicar, which ordinarily just lowers blood pressure, then there is a good chance you have chronic inflammatory disease, such as lyme. 

I am shocked.  Perhaps it was the Benicar that threw him into herxing of some sort.  Anyone have anything to make of this???

If Hubby was started on Benicar but not the Marshall Protocol, then he was probably given 20-40 mg a day. The MP is 40 mg four times a day, a much higher dose. So I can't say whether the reaction is due to to Benicar, since he may not have been on enough to "probe". The MP website is pretty thorough.

Be careful and do LOTS of research before starting the MP (or finding a doc who will do so...that can be tough depending on where you live). I know some people who feel that it saved their life; I also know others who feel it wrecked their bodies and didn't help.

I am really sorry to hear that you are having to go through all of this again! Do you think you were re-infected or just not treated well enough last time?

IMO, you are right about these infections being way ahead of the science - there are only minimal amounts of research dollars being committed to researching new tests, treatments or even just the research of these infections! It's truly a sad thing! There are soooo many of us suffering with this that once in a while I find it mildly disturbing.
