Hmmm... The only thing I can say is that the MP is extremely hard on your kidneys, and most docs consider it far more dangerous than even long-term abx. I am NOT saying that it is, but it is considered even more far-out than ILADS guidelines.
Again, I have to stress that the MP is not Benicar, it is Benicar at amounts 4-8x its original intent, which is why I have been non-committal about whether it is the reason your hubby had a herx.
I ended up in the hospital twice with kidney failure, but from what I am told, that is a pretty rare case. But clearly I had to stop. For me the other side effects were almost intolerable as well. There was a support group nearby that had some members feel that the MP saved their life and swore by it. So I can't say whether it is a good choice or not. But I would probably say that about any treatment.
I've got brutal side effects on the abx as well, so maybe I'm just difficult!
