If you are still having symptoms, then you still have an active infection. It's like if you had tonsillitis, you take abx to cure it, but if your tonsils are still infected, then you would of course, continue treatment.
The other things is that you had a
positive test result. False positives are very rare, although false negatives happen in 40 - 50 % of those who are really infected. I would suggest you trust your test results, because the one thing that most of us here could promise is that you don't want to not treat aggressively and end up with a chronic infection.
Even in the most recent, uncomplicated cases, a person needs to have at least 400 - 600 mgs of Doxy for at least 6 weeks, according to some very knowledgeable Lyme Literate Medical Doctors.
