My left shoulder has been flaring up lately, more than ususal-- rotator cuff pain, deltoid muscle pain--- that comes and goes.
I actually thought this was unrelated to Lyme-- just good old (older person's) bursitis or some such.
But yesterday I had one of my follow-up appointments with my LLMD and when I mentioned my 'bum' shoulder to him and that I thought it was NOT a Lyme issue, he chuckled (warmly) and said it WAS Lyme.
I have to believe him because there really is no physical reason for my shoulder to hurt.
The tip off is the come and go pain that moves around. If I really had a shoulder injury of some sort, it would hurt all the time. And it doesn't.
Being completely pain free for days on end.....and then suddenly having stabbing muscle pain and rotator cuff pain for half a day (that resolves just as quickly as it came on)......is SO Lyme. At least in my case.
I just let the pain run its short course, knowing it will go away with my continued ABX treatment.
