Yet another complexity to tick-borne infections is that we are only able to test for a few different strains of each infection. Some TBI's have many strains. Lyme has over 300 worldwide, Babesia has over 100 different species, and Bartonella has over 20 strains. It's no wonder that the current testing misses so many people who really are infected!

Lyme that a clinical diagnosis is what is required, with tests being helpful only in backing up the diagnosis.
