Question about Bart diagnosis

So I know that Bartonella is difficult to diagnose. I did the regular (cheap) blood test...negative. I'm waiting on results from Igenex...is this one usually more accurate, does anyone know? I'm just wondering what my chances are of getting a positive if I actually have it.

For those of you being treated for bartonella...did you have a positive blood test? Did your doctor diagnose it clinically?

Also...if it's really a 'bartonella-like organism" instead of bartonella that usually occurs with Lyme (according to Burrascano)...does the test for bartonella pick that up? Confusion.

Bartonella does not easily show up in blood work, even thru Igenex. My dr. says I definitely had it and tested negative and my husband even has the purple streaks and he tested negative, twice.

I never tested for Bart, just went with a clinical diagnosis. There are over 20 different strains of Bart that have been identified so far. Since TBI Researchers lack funds, I don't suspect that we will know just how many are truly out there for some time - I believe that it is possible that is why Dr. Burrascano says BLO infections, maybe?

There are so many more symptoms that signify a Bart infection than just painful burning feet! Many knowledgeable LLMD's now say that if the CNS (Central Nervous System) symptoms are a lot more and more intense than the muscular ones, that Bartonella should be considered. There are also more and more of those same docs starting to say that in order for one to heal from Lyme that a Bartonella or Babesia infection must first be cleared.
