Hi, Lanti - welcome to the forum! I'm sorry to hear about your symptoms, although I'm glad to year you're seeking out help right away! Have you checked out the "New To Lyme?.......Start here!" thread? There's a lot of really useful information, including an extensive symptom list which might be worth looking at, although any of us here can tell you that achiness - and for many, tremors - can definitely be indicative of Lyme disease.

Have you seen a doctor yet? Were you treated at all when you got the tick bite? I would definitely suggest seeing a doctor ASAP - particularly a Lyme-Literate Doctor (LLMD), if you can, as diagnosis and treatment of Lyme disease can be a bit complicated and controversial - not to scare you, but if it is Lyme disease, early treatment is extremely important!

You will want to find an ILADS (International Lyme And Associated Diseases Society) doctor. The ILADS site is a great place to read to get you started on your Lyme journey.

Thank you for your thoughtful and thorough reply, Borderlyme, as well as your note of agreement, Letgo. I contacted Stephanie, who was kind enough to email me a list of LLD's in my area
I've been treated for Lyme twice over the years. On both occasions I'd saved the deer ticks, which tested positive. I also got sick quickly the first time. My internist, who unfortunately has passed away, put me on a 30 day course of Doxycycline, which seemed to do the job both times.
This time I did not save the tick, which I probably should have, since it looked too large to be a deer tick and I thought it's only the little ones that we need to worry about. True or false? I got sick within a couple of weeks of the bite, but since my flu-like symptoms were accompanied by a sore throat and cold, my current internist did not think this seemed like Lyme and consequently did not believe antibiotics were indicated.
Now that I've had the scary episode with the tremors, as well as some subsequent achiness,
I think I need to strongly consider the possibility of Lyme.
I spend half of my life in the country, which is a joy -- minus the ticks of course. So there you have my story!

The size of a tick has nothing to do with whether or not they can carry diseases.
