new here and diagnosed with lyme disease 2 weeks ago...

hi every one,

                  i live on long island, I get a puppy year ago now he is 2 years old.

i keep him up to date with his shots. I take him to park every weekend. in august i

had a rash behind my neck. i cant see it . after a week it went away .

month latter i fainted and passed out.

month and half latter i find out i have lyme.

Bad headache, eyes are red redness dont go away with visine.

on antiboitics from 10 days .

today i feel all of sudden my hands and feet get sweety and cold . and feel i am fainting

i laid back had a glass of hot salty water and in 10-  20 minutes i was ok.

please reply to my post and please help if you can by telling me what to do .

how to over come this disease..

Hi Bkumar,

I'm sorry your stuck with this disease too. How did you find out you had Lyme disease? Are you seeing a regular doctor, or a lyme-literate doctor? Lyme-literate doctors are usually members if ILADS (International Lyme and Associated Diseases society), and believe in treating Lyme until all symptoms disappear, unlike other doctors who may treat for only a short time.

If you feel worse when you start antibiotics, that is to be expected. When you kill off of a bunch of bacteria at once, your body starts seeing all the dead bacteria as well as the live stuff, and reacts very strongly, plus you have all the toxic dead bacteria floating around. Google a Herxheimer reaction- that is what it is.

I'm from Canada, so I know the Canadian Lyme disease foundation (www.canlyme.com), but not the american ones. The Canadian one has a lot of good info and resources though.

Google Dr. Burrascano's guidelines for the treatment of Lyme disease. He was one of the pioneers of Lyme treatment, and you could use his guidelines as a general idea of what treatment a LLMD would give. He also gives good guidelines on exercise, what to eat, how to support your body during treatment.

This is a good place to learn about Lyme.

The members are very good at "listening" and teaching. I have learned alot.

I am seeing an IDMD and she has been great so far. She has been working with me since September last year.

I live about 4 hours up state NY from you. We live in an area that is high in Lyme so I feel we have doctors that formiluar with the treatment of Lyme.

One of the best things I learned is herxing. At first I thought it was silly but I was feeling so bad I was willing to try just about anything. The epsom salt baths with poroxide works great for me.

I was taking them everyday but as my treatment went on I started taking less. You'll learn when you need them and how often.

Right now I'm back on abx, meds, and am taking them everyday again.

Read the first post under this and everything else you can.

Do a search for a local support group in your area. We have one here in Dutchess County. I beleive NY has one in most counties. Maybe more.

Keep us posted. Ask questions. Read other posts. Search the web. Knowledge is your best weapon against Lyme.

I learned lyme bacteria carries parasites with it. Salt and vitamin c helps get rid of parasites.
also i am looking for herbal and ayurvedic products to over come lyme . I know many doctors in india.
If i find some thing i will post it.

Hi bkumar - welcome to the forum! I'm sorry to hear about all you're struggling with, although you've come to the right place!

I'm assuming you tested positive for Lyme? Were you tested for any other coinfections - or the parasites that you mentioned?

In the beginning of my treatment, I was feeling very faint most of the time, which I presume was due to a heavy toxin load - if you check out the "New to Lyme?....Start Here" thread at the top of the page, there are some good suggestions for detoxing, which might help to lessen some of the symptoms you're experiencing.

When dealing with Lyme disease it really is crucial to see a lyme-literate doctor. The good news is it sounds like you caught it early, which is likely to spell out a bit of an easier recovery for you.
