teen girls in Le Roy NY

has anyone been following the mystery illness that over a dozen teen girls from
same high school have of this twitching and like ticking disorder.

They are trying to say it is psychological because they supposedly have
checked for all enviormantal stuff.

If you google you can see them. It reminds me of the PANDAS type stuff
which many times is caused in the womb when Mom's have lyme but
this is too weard that all 12 girls have same exact symptoms.

One doctor in NJ is having luck supposedly giving them some type antiinflamitory but I think it must be for inflamation in the brain.

I never heard them once say they tested the girls for tick borne infections.
But how could they NOT. Well, then again it is NY state.

But WHY ONLY GIRLS. ???? It is so bizzare.

did they check for a specific mold in the girls shower in the gym or some place only the girls go?

I have been watching that and I agree with you !!!! The whole thing is sad for these girls as they will probably misdiaganosed as so many of us are !!!! How odd is it that they all would have Conversion Disorder and all of a sudden ... WEIRD .... I feel very sorry for them and their families.....

Very sad indeed. We all know how it feels to be told there is nothing wrong with us when we feel horrible. Can you imagine being a teenager and going through what these kids are going through? and then to be told it is hysteria ?! OMG if I was one of these kids' parent I would be like a lunatic. I don't know if any have been tested for lyme but I feel it is going to turn out to be environmental or some type of virus. So far I haven't heard any other symptoms. There is supposedly another women in her 30s with same symptoms in the same area. I hope they can get to the bottom of it soon.

Actually, I've seen a report where they state that more women get Lyme than men! I didn't see any comments on the 'why more women?' side of it though.

This breaks my heart - I remember all too well being a teenager with strange symptoms and being told I was just crazy. It's just such a shame that besides this horrible mystery illness that they have to deal with, there's the stress of being called hysterical on top of it. Such a shame!

I myself wondered if they may have received the Gardasil HPV vaccines. I think in some states the minors can be offered the vaccines without parental consent --here in CA the public school system can offer to minor children and parental consent is not needed, --many teenagers are having terrible reactions....quite a bit of press about it...that was my first thought in seeing this news.

they think its from fracking wells and The city (1 mile from school) was apparently the site of a major toxic spill 20-30 yrs ago and it has been never cleaned up..fracking literally fractures the ground, so stuff that was safe and sealed up, with fracking , could seep and contaminate water wells

lots of fracking horror stories about it creating disabling neuro conditions with gas seeping aboive ground..i rememebr reading last year about this woman in colorado a rancher very active and healthy who became disabled a few months after fracking was done on adjacent property

Yes, as others stated Erin Brockovich is now involved with this.  It appears that a derailed train spilled cyanide and trichloroethene within about three miles of Le Roy High School in 1970.   All 15 of the affected teenagers: 14 girls and one boy attended the school when they started showing symptoms last fall.

I think I heard that there were some boys now too....but I'm not 100% sure. This IS very interesting. All these toxins in our world...I believe they are causing all our problems. I am reading Detox or Die and she says that at the end of each night before you go to sleep, do a run through your day and determine if you increased or decreased your toxic load. I am trying to think about that now throughout the day and try to do things to decrease my load.

The girl part is weard and one of the girls was on TV saying that she startd twitching and making like funny animal noises at one point.

I want to find out more about that because in 2004 was when I noticed something was definitely brain orientated and not just adrenal fatigue or hep c or fibro or what ever other thing I was being told.

The uncontrolable noises and heavy facial twitching started in and it freaked me out. I had been staying in my parents house for 2 yrs at that time because my Mother had leukemia. I think my Mom had lyme either from my Dad or just from living in same place and vacationing always camping.
I think anyone who grew up on Long Island has a 90% chance of being bitten by ticks and it is more a matter of genetics and how many times
they have been bitten or some other stressful situation happens and the opportunity is there and the lyme finally takes over after we are already infected for longer than we think with all these coinfections and parasites and eventually WAMMO before you know it half your life has gone by with
all kinds of 'Oh, she has this and Oh she just has that". Too much illness
JUST automatically gets accepted as the norm. When you think of it.
ADD is no biggy anymore. Everyone just accepts it that their children have it I guess because there is an official diagnosis and official prescribed medication.


Anyway, has anyone else ever had that making noises thing happen?

I thought it was something in my parent house and NOT lyme. I think there is two things going on with my family between the lyme and either mold or some kind of off gas.

Otherwise, I thought of the HPV vaccine which we have already heard stories on for some girls. OR maybe something in the girls locker room or shower.

The whole thing is dying out though in the press and now the school blamed half the mess on the press like that made girls even sicker.

The doctor on TV that was from NJ who was able to help them looked like just the type to be hip to lyme and never mentioned it.

This fracking thing is supposed to happen where I am too but the town is fighting it no matter how much supporting proof they seem to make up that it is totally kool.

All this talk of the HPV vaccine scares me. I had all three of my kids (2 girls and 1 boy) vaccinated.... I'm kind of worried about it. They are fine but I hope there is no long term consequences...
