Hi Treehousemom,
There are several things I would like to say, then I'll leave it up to you to decide - I'm not trying to convince you or sway your thoughts either direction.
Not all practitioners are created equal. Because of the seriousness of your daughter's condition, you need to have a
very experienced practitioner, as her issues will "run deep" so-to-speak. To learn more about
acupuncture, how it works, and to find a qualified practitioner, here are two links that I like to use - they're easy to understand - LOL!!!
www.acupuncture.com/www.acupuncture.edu/ and this one has a good descript
ion of pulse reading and diagnosis:
acupuncturetoday.com/abc/pulsediagnosis.php Speaking of your daughter's condition, please realize that issues such as these will take time to 'unravel', she didn't get this way over night, and so it will take time for her to feel much improvement. Her adrenals and thyroid may be more balanced, but she would really "feel better" overall in that amount of time.
Acupuncture holds up to the test of science in it's pain relieving ability! Once you have determined you are with a good practitioner, then give it time to work. It's truly amazing what it can do for the body's recovery - not just pain relief, believe me!!
For an example - albeit a little more extreme example possibly - I was so ill that it took my practitioner 9 months to get me stable enough with acupuncture and herbs before I could even start my Lyme treatment.
It's tough to know if you have a good practitioner or not when you've never used that type of practitioner before, so just do your best.
I do hope this helps some.
