Dormant Lymes???

My test came back at .80, too! So frustrating, I know! But even with igenex the texting isn't 100% reliable, especially since the infection itself can suppress antibody production.

Some say that even when you're feeling 100% better, the bacteria is always there, so yes it's possible that it was lying dormant all that time and your healthy body just kept it in check. It's not at all uncommon for extreme stress on the body such as what you went through - which I'm so sorry to hear about, by the way! - to trigger underlying infections.

Given that your doctor looked at you like you have 3 heads for asking for a Lyme test, I wouldn't count on her to be able to assess whether you have Lyme. It really is best to see an LLMD who is specifically trained in this sort of thing, otherwise you may end up on a wild goose chase!

Mold can definitely be an issue as well - it has definitely worsened my symptoms and overall condition substantially. Can you remove the mold from your house? Do you have an air purifier?

My symptoms have gotten pretty bad at times - although I went un-/misdiagnosed for 14 years before getting proper treatment, and even now I'm a "complicated" case according my doctors. Testing doesn't really represent much of your level of sickness, if that's what you were getting at. While it would be wonderful if we could have reliable lyme testing to make this whole process easier, unfortunately the medical community just isn't there yet! You might want to take a look at the "new to lyme" thread as there's a lot of great information there about lyme disease, testing, symptoms, etc., and also great - and easy - suggestions for detoxing which might alleviate your symptoms somewhat right away.

Also, you may have better results if you start a new thread looking for a doctor in ATL, that way more of our members will be able to see it to give you personal recommendations.

You will want to find an ILADS (International Lyme And Associated Diseases Society) doctor. The ILADS site is a great place to read to get you started on your Lyme journey.
