So about 2 months ago, I hit a plateau and quit getting better. My LLND wanted to switch medications, but she a) also wanted to try to keep working with an MD who had been semi-cooperative in prescribing for me and b) try to solve some stomach issues. I tried going off antibiotics, got WAY worse right away, and had to go back on after a very short time off. And then my ND wanted me to do some other tests on my stomach, and not change anything until they came back.
So it has been a month since I got back on antibiotics after my very short time off, and I have just been getting slowly worse. My ND thinks I have untreated Babesia, and also thinks my Bartonella is back, and I still haven't switched my treatment much to get at them (except for adding Wormwood), because we're waiting for test results.
It is just getting a little nerve racking. I know that un-treated coinfections can make treatment slow, or plateau, but this is beyond that now. I'm almost back to where I was when I first got diagnosed- feeling like I'm getting plantar fascitis/really sore feet, getting carpal tunnel and other wrist problems, bad brain fog, super sore knees and hips etc. So it makes me scared that I'm not ever going to get better. I was so close to being 100% last summer, and now I feel like I might never even get back to being able to any sort of real activity. Please, someone tell me they have backslid while still on antibiotics, and then gone on to see improvement?
