Lyme counsel every 2 weeks?

Hello,

Well I made an appointment for a Lyme counsel. September is soonest. He is an Osteopath,and mainly treats Lyme,and has Lyme. She said it is $200,and something about EVERY 2 weeks a counsel. Not sure for how long though. I followed up and left message asking,but have not heard back.

Is every 2 weeks normal for lyme appointment/treatment? Even short-long term...

I go to my doc every 4 to 6 weeks -- I think that is pretty typical. And the fee is 100-130 depending on the length of visit and whether there is blood taken.

Two weeks seems a little too short. Let's say you start taking a new medication. It takes a week for it to start working and then a week for you go through the herx. You'd be having a consultation just when you were feeling your worst, rather than waiting the two more weeks for you to regain some strength and see what results the particular protocol has brought.

Is the two week counsel schedule just for when you start treatment? Maybe it is to avoid bad reactions to medications or too violent herx reactions or the doctor offers extra support for getting through the herx.
