How can you tell if the probiotics you are taking are still active? I know the microorganisms are destroyed by heat. We have had many days over 100 degrees recently, and some of these items are not shipped refrigerated, so I wonder if they got "baked" in a UPS freight truck some where.
Is there a way I can test them? e.g. put them in sugar water and leave on the counter and see if they grow? or something similar? Any microbiologists out there?? Thanks.
