Is ir just me???

Does anyone fell somehow they do not have lyme even though they KNOW they do...like in my case I have had severe herxes like on utube and after taking 3 different antibiotics for 2 weeks got the Bartonella red streaks? 

Just seems too hard to believe it is real...

Beachlover,  Me  & the hubby doubt having Lyme quite a bit, even though intellectually we know we have it. It's funny, because way before his dx, when I was still quite healthy, I'm the one who insisted he had Lyme. Now that I've been diagnosed, I will doubt myself having it, as I've been nowhere near as physically sick as the hubby(though I've been "mentally" ill for 8+ yrs--depressin/anxiety/ocd)

Our LLMd believes that, depending on where you live, most people have Lyme & co-infections. I'ts just a matter of time for most for them to show symptoms, some going many, many yrs being very healthy.

I do not think mine bugs can get much more chronic than they are...It is very possible since it screws with your brain so bad. I KNOW I do...just hard to believe.

P.S. traveler...I took ur advice and had a parasite test done...will talk to dr about it soon!

You're definitely not alone in that strange phenomenon! For me I think it's when people question me, then I start to question myself, too! Everything I know goes right out the window when someone asks, "well, shouldn't you be better by now?" Someone asked me the other day how lyme disease actually makes me feel, and I got so confused for a while - I'm so used to feeling this way and my terminology doesn't even line up with people who don't understand lyme disease anymore. They think of symptoms as knee pain, headache, tired, while I think of inflammation, blood flow, mitochondrial dysfunction, toxins! It's like a whole different language!

I've been through the ringer so many times, been told I definitely have this or this or that, and came to believe certain "facts" about what's actually wrong with me - I think if you go through that enough it's impossible not to be skeptical about everything you know that you know, you know? ;)

I try to look at it as a positive thing - even though it's frustrating to never feel that certainty you might feel if someone tells you, "A broken bone is causing your pain, wear this cast and you will feel better in x amount of time," it does keep us open to various sources of healing and different perspectives, and keeps us from getting stuck in a "ONLY this is the problem and ONLY this will work and even if it doesn't work I'll do it forever anyway because it should work!" box.
