Is insect repellant of any use with ticks?

I was an extreme hiker and have hiked all over the world. Since becoming infected, I’m a complete mental case when I step onto any hiking trail. I use a combo of tick repellents…and so far so good. I spray Repel Tick Stop on all my clothes and boots three hours before we go out hiking. Spray outside and allow for drying time. I wear insect repellant socks and pants from LL Bean. The manufacturer is exofficio.com and the Permethrin lasts for up to 70 washes. Then I put Repel Sportsmen Max (40% Deet) on exposed skin. I also include my legs because that is where I got my infected tick (it’s a mental thing). Then I put Lemon Eucalyptus Natural Insect Repellent on my neck and face. Whew…it’s a process and I still freak out while hiking in the woods.

Most bugsprays say they fend off ticks. I've tried all kinds, & they're usually pretty good at keeping the ticks away, but once in a while it just doesn't matter what I put on; I will find a tick crawling on a spot I sprayed!

Thanks guys - I will look for Repel Tick Stop. I'm not a hiker, but golf lots and not well. Hence I am in the bushes lots looking for my ball! I get pretty nervous about
getting bit again.

I am a hiker and trail runner, but I cannot use DEET. I get over-the-top anxiety when I come into contact with it or even if someone else is spraying it close to me. I get uncontrollable OCD and restlessness. I literally cannot calm myself down and I have to go running and exhaust myself or take benadryl in large doses to stop it. It's scary.
I use ECO brand natural repellent. It doesn't work very well though. There are also bug repellent stickers that I sometimes put on my shoes. They are natural as well.
If you have cats be VERY cautious using permethrin. It is neurotoxic in cats and can cause seizures and death when they are exposed to it (by rubbing on your treated clothes for example). The same is true for some of the natural sprays. Cats are very sensitive to essential oils and permethrin.
