I don't know if I cant take much more! :( I was scheduled to start my oral abx today but my new LLMD wanted to get rid of my rash first. He thought it might be a yeast rash. He started me on Diflucan and suggested I see my dermotologist.
The dermotologist did a scrap and punch biopsy. Surprise...its a staph infection! Not sure why the six doctors before this couldn't figure that out.
So now, I have to wait two more weeks to start my Babeiosis, Bartonella, and Lyme treatment until this clears up. Ugggg! I am so frustrated.
Anyone else experience staph infections with tick-borne diseases?

This article might be of interest to you, but it's still being studied. I wonder if it would work on Lyme too.

I used to get round patches of dry skin that one of my specialists thought was a strep infection. Lyme weakens our defenses against ALL bacteria that our bodies' naturally carry, making staph and strep infections more possible. I used organic coconut oil on my rashes and it always seemed to help it go away and FAST.
Hope you feel better soon, and that you can begin treatment soon!

Coconut oil is very good! The benefits can be attributed to the presence of lauric acid, capric acid and caprylic acid, and its properties such as antimicrobial, antioxidant, anti-fungal, & antibacterial.
There are many sites that can be found when searching on the internet that proclaim the benefits of coconut oil. I use it daily, both internally and externally.
