If you are doing sugar free , which to me means fruit free too .. than does anyone have some ok tasting veggie smoothie recipes ? I at some points was doing cucumber , kale , carrot , beet , stuff like that , but I wonder if there are certain combinations that are more paltable ? I love smoothies but I think I kind of relate smoothies to the way I use to make them w/whole yogurt and banana and berries . I dont mind the taste of veggies but blended sometimes isn't so great texture wise .
My mother makes a good smoothie that is avacado , banana, brown rice protein powder . It looks like green pudding , and tastes like banana pudding with baby cereal in it But I'm trying to not do grains ( I do do some rice but only once in a while ) , and trying to avoid the sugars in the fruits .. so her recipe although wholesome and tasty is out the window for me .
I know beet is a good way to add some sweetness without using fruit , but to me a sugar molecule is a sugar molecule is a sugar molecule , so not so sure thats a great idea if you are trying to avoid sugar .
I keep reading and seeing of people here doing sugar free and even watching their fruit intake , and also not doing wheat /gluten .. so thought it would be a good place to ask if anyone has come up wiht any good veggie smoothies that are nice on the taste buds .
