HI Hope2bhealthy!
What wonderful posts!! I too can echo what is being said. I seriously questioned my mental state when the doc's just kept telling me that I was healthy! Come to find out, most doc's don't have a clue as to what Lyme disease actually "looks' like when a patient walks in! It's also scary when you learn what's going on and realize that you now know more than 90% of the doc's out there about
these incredibly complex infections!!!
I would second the suggestion to reading through our "New to Lyme? Start Here!" thread, as it's packed full of important information, informative links, symptom lists (as Lyme rarely travels alone) and even a list of questions to ask a Doc before committing to them for treatment! Be sure to carefully read the thread on detoxing - I believe it's the third post down - as it's incredibly important to help your body detox when a person has these infections(
www.encognitive.com/node/5768). Any questions you have about
detoxing, including dry skin brushing, can be answered here by one of the members or one of the Mods.
We also have a really wonderful search function to help you locate the threads where people are discussing the same symptoms as you are dealing with so you can see what others have suggested they do or try. We have such a great group of people here!! They will all try to help you find the info you are looking for, and step right up with suggestions for your current symptoms!!
When you are ready to do some searching for a do, you will want to be sure to find a LLMD (Lyme Literate Medical Doctor) or a Holistic doc that is willing to help you through this. Many here use Holistic/natural/herbal medicine to heal, so no matter which you choose to follow, there are plenty of people that can help here!
If you are interested in using Western Medicine (abx basically) to heal, here are a few suggestions on finding a LLMD:
For information in your area, please email our long time member, Dan's Mother at:

www.turnthecorner.org/ if you want to learn a little bit more about
Lyme Disease.
You can also go to The Lyme Disease Association and search for LLMD's 3 times in a month. You have to register first. Here is the link:
www.lymediseaseassociation.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=277&Itemid=74 You will want to find an ILADS (International Lyme And Associated Diseases Society) doctor, as they treat based on evidence-based medicine. The ILADS site is another great place to read to get you started on your Lyme journey.
www.ilads.org/lyme_disease/treatment_guidelines_clearing_ilads.html Infectious Disease docs are not able to help those with long term infections heal, as they don't believe that there is such a thing as chronic Lyme - so they can't help them heal! There are several other reasons to not go to an ID doc, and if you would like I would be happy to list them for you.
I agree with Springjean, it's all about
taking baby steps at first, and sometime during the whole treatment. Hang on to your love of life! You will get back to living it with all your heart - it will just take a bit of hard work first!
Once again, Welcome to our little spot!! We are so glad you found us!!
