I've been looking forward to tomorrow for the past month... I've been on Doxy 400mg per day in the meantime while waiting for my Igenex results. Symptoms- chronic headache, head pressure (she thinks its Babesia), heart pain + many other ones that come and go. Does anyone have any relation to this or have any idea what the next step might be or what I should expect. I've only had chronic symptoms the past 6 months.. is that long enough to be put on IV? Is Babesia treated first? I just want to finally see something come up positive and know that I'm not crazy. I feel like the Doxy has increased the pressure in my head.... and I would say I've had about 3 herx episodes where I feel god awful. I just dont know what to think anymore or what to do with myself. The only thing that is keeping me from going crazy is that Igm p23, IgG 41, and IgG 30 coming up present.

Are you detoxing, X? That should help you, especially because of the herxing.

Each doctor has their own theories on what to do when. Some like to start patients off on IV abx, some wait to see how well orals are tolerated, and others don't do IV abx at all. You'll have to wait until you see your doc to know for sure.

Many LLMD's believe that in order to heal from Lyme, the co-infections of Babesia and Bartonella must be treated first...and there's good evidence that this is true.

You can relax about the Lyme test though, you've already had a positive result! Band 23 is specific to Lyme, so there's already plenty of evidence that you have it. Band 23 reacts when it detects the Outer Surface Protein C (Osp C).

I would suggest that you take notes or better yet, take a tape recorder to your appt with you. That way you'll be sure to know what all the doctor covered during your appt.
