Hi Davidteddy,
Welcome to our site! The symptoms that you mentioned are quite common to these infections. That terrible "sick inside" feeling can be from a number of reasons- Lyme infects and affects all the organs, or it could be just a general ill feeling from being ill. The overwhelming exhaustion is just par for the course for a lot of us.
I've lived with the symptoms that you mention for many years, and only occasionally deal with them now. I have been using Traditional Chinese Medicine, wild crafted herbs and Traditional Chinese Acupuncture for my treatments and I get treatments twice a month.
For my Lyme treatment, I used a different set of herbs not based in TMC (Traditional Chinese Medicine). The Lyme treatment that I used is called "Chronic Tonic" - which can be found on page 77 in this pdf -
www.mistymeadows.org/wendydocs/Lyme%20Disease.pdf My Practitioner had me make the tea differently - she had me take 13 grams of the herbal mixture and steep in 4 cups of boiling water for 20 minutes, then cool and drink 1 cup, 4 times a day. I used this tea for 9 months.
For my Bartonella infection, I used
whole leaf Houttuynia - not the powder that Zhang calls for in his Bartonella treatment. This was a hard hitter for me. I was supposed to take 3 grams and make a tea to drink 3 times a day, but I had to double the amount of water and only drink a small amount twice a day for 3 weeks before I quit herxing!
LOL! Once I could tolerate more, I quickly went up to using 3 grams that I would steep in 3 cups of boiling water and then drank 1 cup of tea, 3 times a day. I used this tea for 6 months.
These both made a
huge difference in my ability to function - but we didn't treat as long as we should since my Babesia symptoms came roaring to the surface. Because of the herbs being used -and I'm still kind of confused as to what does what!- my practitioner told me that the herbs couldn't be used at the same time, so I still have some symptoms of both Lyme and Bart and will be going back into treatment for both.
Although you should understand, I was first infected at the age of 7 -back in 1970 and didn't get adequate treatment until 2011 - 41 years later. So the bacteria had invaded every thing it was going to by then and I was bed-bound for approximately 2 months and then house bound for about
9 months. To compare, this summer was filled with gardening, taking care of & milking 2 dairy goats, raising 5 baby goats, and keeping up with housework and hubby! So I've made massive amounts of improvement in a relatively short amount of time!!
If you have any more questions about
my treatment, or other treatments, I'll be happy to answer as many questions as I can - the rest we can leave in the very capable hands of the other members!
You can also email me if you wish.
