One term comes from those who don't believe that with just a few positive bands a person can have the infection, while the other group understands that there are many strains of the bacteria - over 100 here in the US alone - and that not all the different strains will react on all the bands that doc's want them to! Of course this group of doctors will also be willing to diagnose based on symptoms rather than blood test results alone, as well.
There are some that believe that those who have had the "Lyme vaccine" that was out for just a bit will always have a positive on certain bands of the blood tests as well.
