JustMe,
You are very wise in considering treating for parasites. However, I would caution you in trying to do too much too fast. It is a balancing act that determines how bad your herxes will be. There is the toxin elimination side, which consists of your body's ability to excrete the toxins, plus additional detox methods that you use to enhance toxin elimination. then there is the side pertaining to the effectiveness of the microbe kill-off, which will flood your system with toxins that will cause a large part of the misery that Lymies suffer. Every lyme sufferer is balancing these two things whether they realize it or not. If you weight the microbe kill-off side too much, you may very well regret it!
Here is what I did with Heather, and i would advise you to do as well. We discontinued the antibiotics and then treated for parasites. She started to feel a lot better almost right away. After the parasite cleanse we started her on a combination of the Buhner and Cowden protocols. The herxes were nothing like what she had with the antibiotics. However, notice that I said we started antimicrobial treatment AFTER we finished the parasite cleanse. There is plenty of time for treatment. If you try to do too much too fast you may cause a lot of suffering and cause damage to your body. This is counterproductive in the long run!
Your other inclination is correct. Detox! Detox Detox!. Try to stay warm and detox via various methods- exercise, lots of good clean water, eat healthy, use good oral detoxicants, use energetic methods such as far infrared sauna and ionic foot detox, enemas and colonics, detox bath, and many others. I have found that it is totally unecessary to suffer horribly if you design a detox strategy that detoxes by way of several detox pathways. Do the free things such as exercise and drink lots of water. Use a really good oral detox product, Take the detox baths, and use either the far-infrared sauna or the ionic foot detox.
Then, after the parasite cleanse, resume the antimicrobial treatment while you still detox like crazy. This entire suggestion is just opnion, but it worked for us. Good luck with whatever you do.
Don
