   combination of poor insulation in my home,  and sound in general,  I cringe, at the sound of lawnmowers

 I have noise canceling headset, but when not plugged into music, does not help with lawn care equipement sounds

  I wig out inside,  smhair  

 and I have to leave, so I got in my car,

 and drove a few mintues to a park, I could not bare it.

  I know the version of whatever all  illness I have was created on plum island and/ or from chemtrails,  nothing natural could disrupt my body so much, so quickly

 

 that is my belief.   If you knew me before to this, it is so outrageous...

 I cant wait to get well and figure out a way to move to another country.

Heather had a lot of different symptoms. I was reminded a lot of this symptom when she would constantly be cringing and asking us to lower the volume of our speaking. I could tell that even a normal tone of voice was really hurting her.

I am so sorry to hear of what you are going through.

I hear fireworks in the distance, as people are celebrating the New Year. I guess that it would be safe for me to say that you will probably not be jumping in your car seeking out the nearest fireworks?

I have the same issues with sound. I can't stand noise all around me. When I'm in class and people are talking I cringe inside and anxiety wells up, and when I try to read or concentrate on anything, any tiny bit of sound distracts me. And I get so frustrated and anxious. It takes me over an hour to read 10 pages. I also am super sensitive to touch, and texture and things touching me a certain way makes me anxious and even have panic attacks.

I have the same thing going on: with sound, smell and light. And it gets worse lately...
It drives me up the wall. Even a clear TV screen makes me watch the other side, I feel everyone is yelling all the time, I can't stand smells (especially the artificial smells).
When I get up in the morning when I don't have to work, I leave my earplugs in, its so relaxing...

Yes, this is all part of Lyme/coinfections and the neurotoxins generated by the bugs.

Detoxing can bring some relief, but ultimately, these hypersensitivity symptoms should improve with treatment.

I had all of those things going on as well. It's sooo frustrating! I used to use an MP3 player all the time, on low volume, to keep other noises from being so loud, and I wore sunglasses and a hat with a brim on it all day long to help shield my eyes from all lights - even when I was inside buildings. I got a lot of looks when I went out of the house, but I made it out and got the things done that I had to!!

As Razzle said, detoxing and time in treatment is the only way I know of to get past these symptoms.

It's called a sensory disorder or sensory overstimulation. I also suffer from this severely. Most of the time, I can't tolerate church, stores, loud music, even being around my family is extremely hard most days. I am sensitive to lights and sounds. If a light is affecting me, I will become dizzy and disoriented. If its sound, my head feels like it will literally expode and if its a combo of both, then I am in real trouble. My body feels like it is shutting down and I feel my face start to go tight and numb then the rest of my body does the same thing. I have to get in a quiet place and rest for a few hours before I feel "halway normal" again.

Mine didn't start until I was on Azithromycin. I have to question if this played a part in it. I have never been the same since. I have done many i.v. and oral treatments but this doesnt go away. My neuro even tried a few meds like Ritalin but they didnt work either.

All of this has also led to social anxiety and panic attacks. I wish there was a cure for it. I am sorry some of you are also going thru it too.

I had a sensitivity to smells, lights, and sounds as well. Certain stores with their high lighting systems would leave me in complete confusion and pain. The sun was horrible for me as well. I couldn't stand the noise of running water, the vacuum cleaner, or really anything with that constant humming sound. Everyone had to talk quietly around me, and music and TV were a nightmare. As for smells, everything seemed to smell like rotten old fish to me, especially green tea. Sometimes it still happens, but not as often. . My main reason for the sensory overstimulation was due to intracranial brain pressure. There was too much fluid in my brain due to the lyme. My doctor put me on Diamox because it can increase brain flow by acting as a diuretic. And wow, within weeks, what a change! I take it only twice a week now. I used to take it every other day and it worked much better then, but one of the side effects are bladder issues.. Oh the pain and discomfort. Honestly, cantelope does help with that, but I noticed the daily intake of the sugar was starting to affect me. So now I stick to taking the Diamox 2 x's a week, with a much milder form of the overstimulation, and I stay away from certain stores... and green tea too..lol.

thanks for the info on med. u r taking that is helping u.  I am so glad.

( yesterday I totally lost it, flipped out,  when neighbors had a tree service at thier house

cutting so many branches, trees.  I wanted to yell for them to stop.  I had placed my headset in the car the other day,  and my backseat was full of stuff, and I just couldnt find them

trying to organize and move evenutally car had boxes and bags of stuff,

so there I am throwing stuff out of the car, probally inverently breaking things in the process, but

every second counted, I had to find that headset to help block out the decibels.

I put tv and music on loud,  still heard it, and I was like flipping out inside,

I finally found the headset on the floor of backseat.  Now I know it is a prized possession.

That was an abnormal moment for me,  I never want to live so close to people again, 

with lush lawns again,   )

on an internet main page was a clip to see a baby being startled by a vacume

I watched it cause I was thinking why would somoeone want to put that up

, I thought it was a cruel thing to do, it is not funny.

people who have never been so sick, or autistic, or have theier mylen being stripped away from lyme or whatever, are just reacting to thier old learned behavior,
but I am not laughing,
I got my head phones on, so I am good for the rest of the day. thanks friends.

I almost feel ashamed of sharing this: sometimes I can't stand the smell of people (they don't smell bad (well, some really do, but I'm not talking about those ones), but I just can't stand the smell) - I sometimes have it with my husband, sometimes often... He's very clean, he doesn't smell at all, but I can't stand the smell of him, even when he comes right out of the shower. I never told him...

Imagined or exaggerated smells are actually fairly common with Lyme - as is the overly sensitive hearing.

I still deal with these things, but they aren't near the issue that they were just 8 months ago. I haven't had these severe enough to warrant seeking out treatment specifically for these symptoms.
Time in treatment and detoxing work the best, with the least amount of side effects.
