I am a new member. I wanted to know what happened to Shannabanana also. Its been a year since her 2/10/2013 post. SHannabanana are you still out there?

How is it going now?

We are getting ready to start but still researching protocols. Jernigan - Cowden - Shang, trying to decide what to do.

Any news banana3...how are you?

I have a question. I bought the book "Beating Lyme Disease" but it doesn't seem to have specific protocols in it, just generalized info regarding his protocols and theories, plus using lots of machines that many people don't have access to. When you say you are following his protocol, are you just taking his products or are you also doing all the other things he says?

Deejavu - thanks. I found that section. I don't know how I missed it. Duh.

There reason I'm asking is that my LLMD had put me on Doxycycline at 100 mg 2 x a day for a month and cholorestyme, bumped it to 200 2x a day for only 3 weeks, then bumped it down to 100 1x day on Monday and doubled my cholestyramine. Before he dropped me down, I was feeling almost normal. When I started this low dose this week, I had a horrible herx yesterday - I haven't felt that bad since August. I believe my lyme is deep into my neurological system, so I have horrible nerve pain and tingling, muscle cramping when I herx.

I was reading some of the older posts regarding symptoms coming back when people go off Doxy and that it might be a backlog of toxins. That's possible in my case, because of my MTHFR mutation. He also gave me a magnesium/methyl-b 12 shot on Monday and forgot to take my methyl-folate and I think that possibly contributed to my herx. Or taking too much biofilm buster. It's hard to know really.

At any rate, this doctor's theory is that I can fight it off with the Des Bios Nos in combination with the low dose Doxycycline. He says my immune system numbers are great, not like most of his Lyme patients and he thinks my primary problem is mold which he works with a homeopath and she has me on both homeopath and herbs for my that and other problems.

I guess I wanted to research and be ready to start doing some other plan because I'm scared to suffer needlessly if his plan doesn't working. I personally know he cures people, so I am hopeful, but I can't help wonder with all the other people saying they needed multiple antibiotics, not just Doxycycline.
