I was originally diagnoses with RMSF and placed in the hospital. I had red spots all over me, plus the bullseye rash which no one put any significance on. Low grade fever, sensitivity to light, tachycardia. After the tests came back negative, my doc scratched his head, sent me to a number of specialists who all pronounced me healthy with a number of strange symptoms. He called me his mystery patient. Two years later and still quite ill I sent myself to an infectious disease specialist who was from Harvard, had seen Lyme, and told me I had Lyme.
We think the spots all over were an immune system response. This was back in '88 and Lyme was new to my state of Ga.
