Hi all,
Well I went to an herbalist today who came highly recommended. It was so nice to talk to someone that actually thought I had Lyme! ahhhhhh. Anyhow, she said I was doing a very good job, that my diet was good. And thank goodness, she said its okay for me to still have gluten, yogurt, and sugar! Of course, all of you keeping in mind that I can't remember the last time I had more than 1 tsp of sugar per day. I use honey instead too. I'm lucky in that my digestive tract hasn't been super affected yet so hopefully once I start treatment my digestive tract will still be okay! She is actually a teacher and taught a class on lyme that covers, diet, abx (when to take and with what), exercise.
She said I was a lot healthier than a lot of Lyme patients she sees that have usually been suffering for years before they figured out what it was. I guess I'm lucky that I don't trust someone just because they have a medical degree. She does think unfortunately that I do have bart and babesia possibly because when on the meds I've had have resulted in drastic mental rxns (though they do not last long). The worst about
that is that the drugs I've been taking...don't even really target bart or babs so what is it going to feel like when I am.....?
My old protocol
1/2 tsp of cats claw 3x day
1/2 tsp of japanese knotweed 3x day
10 drops each of sida acuta tinc., red root, stephania 3x a day
1,000 mg of vitamin C 2-3x/day
Vitamin B Complex 2x/day
Fish Oil 2g/day (2 pills)
Magnesium citrate 400 mg/day)
Probiotics 1x day (25 Billion)
1 tsp of boneset tea in 8 ounces of H20
Liver Supplement 2x/day before meals
My new protocol
4g daily of japanese knotweed
10 drops each of sida acuta tinc., red root, stephania 3x a day
1g Fish Oil/day
Vitamin C TBT (to bowel tolerance) I will switch to buffered C Powder as it is easier on the kidneys
Vitamin D 1000 iu/day
Vitamin B Complex 2x/day
Probiotics 2x day (50 Billion)
Magnesium citrate 400 mg/day)
Milk Thistle, standardized 200 mg/day
Houttyunia tea 2.5 grams daily (said she has had really good response with this herb for bart/babs)
Reishi powder 3g/day
She said because I'm in the beginning of treatment she wants to keep me as is and see what is going to happen with LLMD. Said if I don't like mine she had a lot of names she could give me b/c she has worked with a few.
She also said to keep my probiotics and fish oil in the fridge as well as any powdered herbs which oxidize quickly in air. Followup in 6 weeks. Mentioned something about
needing warming herbs because my body was cold so certain things like the boneset tea, cats claw probably weren't doing much and honestly I think she is right. I did notice improvement in joints with japanese knotweed but no difference w/ cats claw or tea. She thinks the reishi powder will work better for me. I'll update with the eye dr. appointment tomorrow and regular physician on Monday.
