Hi, Ive been fighting with my docs for 2 years now trying to figure out what is wrong with me.
I have constant severe headache, muscle and joint pain almost everywhere, sweats and chills, nausea and vomiting, loss of appetite, bottoms of feet are sore in morning, ect ect...
The only test results that have been abnormal were a positive ELISA, the IgG was positive, IgM neg.
I took a "immunoblot" test that says Negative but doesnt list the bands, it just says under 5 bands is neg.
The doc called me back and tried to tell me all bands were negative but I cant seem to get this proof on paper...
How likely is it to have a false positive ELISA?
My doc argued that it is falsely positive and it could be something else or even "something in my mouth"
Im going to have the IgeneX Lyme test done, but I cannot afford the co-infection one.
Just wondering about the REAL chances that the screen I took could be a false positive.
I dont have syphillis, or dental infections. It says that a past infection can cause a false positive but I believe thats kinda BS cause why is it considered false if you have been infected at all?
Please give me your opinions on the false positive thing, I dont want to be wasting time and money barking up the Lyme tree if I really dont have it... but it just seems like all my symptoms fit the bill.
