ok, i've been at this for awhile now. Been on lyme (bart) treatment for a year and now on Babesia treatment.

With Babesia treatment I have pain in my jaw and very sensitive sometimes painful teeth and nerves in the teeth. I also have TMJ and wearing a splint at nite (also probably a lyme symptom - tmj)

But reading Jernigans book brings some light to the issue and wondered if anyone has done any treatment to relieve painful teeth. He says to swish some of the anti lyme products in your mouth since lyme is everywhere, so too are the other coinfections.

So wondering if others with this problem have tried other products to get at lyme and coinfections in the mouth.

I really don't want a root canal -- especially the expense, ugh.

any thoughts?

Thieves oil mouthwash maybe? I have a lot of tooth pain also so I feel ya.

Of course Dr. Jernigan's suggestion is a good one. Knowledgeable dentists will affirm that a lot of these pathogens can live in the tubules of the teeth and also the gums. I also like Opugirl's suggestion of using thieves oil. I would cut it down with something like olive oil and apply it to the glands on the neck as well as on the gums.

A skilled chiropracter can often help if the problem is structural- hence the TMJ. Since you seem to have structural issues, I would suggest CranioSacral Therapy as well. Your anatomic nervous system may be in a chaotic state right now. I would attempt to alleviate the symptoms in the order in which I have discussed them here. Once you have found relief, there is no need to go any further! Good luck with finding relief.

I just happened to get a free sample of Arm & Hammer Sensitive w/ Orajel. Active Ingredients: potassium nitrate 5% - (for) "antihypersensitivity"
And sodium fluoride 0.243% (anti-cavity). I'm giving the ingredients b/c I know many of us have MCS and have to be careful about certain things.

Anyway!!! I tried it and was really impressed. I have tooth pain often, sometimes so sensitive that it hurts to brush my teeth. Now, that being said, I have not researched the safety of this product, but I can say it has provided much relief for me!

I know it's just a temporary solution, but just wanted to throw it out there :)

I get a lot of jaw pain too.

Side note about tooth pain- for years I used to ask people, "do your teeth hurt too when you have to pee badly"? The answer was always, "no, are you serious?" Sadly, yes! I've had his problem for years and years. I now think it's lyme-related as well!

I randomly get episodes of nerve pain in all my teeth. The first time it lasted for a week, and I thought I would go crazy. Since I will randomly get it for 1-3 days. It affects all my teeth not one and it is definite not a dental issue. It is some sort of neuralgia. The only thing that helped was rinsing with Peroxyl, brushing gently with a toothpaste for sensitive teeth, and only eating soft or liquid room temperature or slightly warm food. I feel for you as nothing really seems to get rid of it. Thankfully I do not have this everyday or I would get too skinny as I mostly can't eat when it happens. If you find anything that works please post.

This is so strange, since I posted that about the toothpaste for sensitive teeth, I have the most intense tooth pain, but I only I brush my teeth.

It's not the same as the sensitivity. I get that too, but this pain much worse. As soon as my toothbrush touches my teeth/gums, I feel this intense pain shooting through my teeth and gums.

I wonder what has made it suddenly so much worse?

well, for what its worth here are a couple things that may help...

I saw my acupuncturist, she did some points for the craniosacral area and recommended more work on that area. once she was done with those points things clearedup for awhile. It's just that this area is so tight and stressed, self massage seems to help also

Oil pulling....

Flossing a couple times per day -- seems to massage the gums and keeps the bacteria at bay.

I think this will clear up with more treatment (it has in the past), but when it flares some of these things work somewhat.

I've got sensitive teeth also, it comes and goes - or pressure in my teeth - wanting me to kick them out...

When I've got too much pressure in my yaws, I go to see my ostheopath, he takes that pressure away. It's a bit strange cause he's putting his fingers/hand in my mouth and then pulls and pushes, but it feels so relaxed afterwards.

It can be very annoying: the pressure can go all the way up to my neck and then skull, or down to my shoulders when it's getting really bad.

I don't know if there's a good ostheopath in your region??
